With tonight's win (that one misinformed poster called 'garbage'-OM took Kentucky to overtime in Lexington), LSU goes to 2-1. If they get a win over Texas A&M on Saturday and can split road games at Florida and Vanderbilt, and then come home and beat South Carolina and go on the road and beat Mississippi State, LSU would be at 6-2 in the SEC and 17-4 overall. That would put LSU in good shape going into February as they have 3 big road games against Auburn, Alabama and Kentucky coming up. LSU has a chance to really put themselves as a solid NCAA tournament team.

Optimistic post, but UK is at home.

Just wanted to get in before the rantards tear you a new one for making a human mistake.

I wasn't going after him. I bet a friend a beer because at the time of our discussion, I thought the game was on the road. OP gave me hope that my buddy checked the wrong schedule or something.

Carry on

Poor typing skills on my part. Auburn, Alabama and Kentucky games to begin February are at home. Thanks for pointing this out, but to the bigger point, LSU is poised to make a solid run in the SEC if they can get consistent play from Martin and Mickey and continued excellent play from Tim Quarterman and solid play from Gray and Hornsby and some quality minutes from Jalyn Patterson. I do believe that Odo, Malone, and Epps will also have to emerge and contribute for LSU to get as far as the Sweet 16.

Besides to mess ups in your post, I agree. But its going to be tougher than you think. A&M took Kentucky to double OT.

Surely 11-7 in conference will get us into The Dance.

I'll just take the normal course of wins and losses and won't parse the schedule into "good" wins, etc.

If this team develops some consistency, we may have a shot at 12-5, but I think 11-7 is a worthy goal.

Then, 2 wins in the SEC tournament makes us an absolute lock. One win? I'd be a little uneasy, but I think we're still there with a 23-10 overall record.

Either gotta be 12-6 or 11-7. Can't be 12-5.

IMO,we need 12 conference wins to at least secure a spot in the NCAA tournament. A win versus KY would be the icing on the cake.
