Both Bienville and Iberville, too.

And they both had such different styles of running.

Bienville was a big, bruising back that could punish you, while Iberville was more of a gazelle who would just turn the burners on a fly past you.

Eh, claiming a Heisman winner awarded 100 years later is akin to Bama claiming all of their national titles.

Especially since the National Football Foundation has no right to give out the Heisman since it’s not their award.

and it was all picked by one guy.

Doc Fenton in 1908.

Retroactively winning the award is not the same. We have 3 Heisman trophy winners. Doc Fenton being retroactively selected does not count because if the Heisman existed in 1908 we do not know 100% that he would have won the Heisman.

You can make an argument for 5 NC's sure

No you can't. No one awarded LSU a national championship trophy immediately following the 1908 season.

There is no award for 1908, there is no trophy for 1908, therefore there is no national championship for 1908.

I really wish people would stop going back into historical records and thinking they want to have a championship for any particular season. That's just not how it works.

If a respected organization didn't award it at the time, it didn't happen.

Jerry Stovall was bobbed!!

you are sure correct about that,, they begrudged him because Cannon had just recently won it, Just like this years Maxwell award because BUrrow didnt go to their awards ceremony when he won it , so they "punished" Daniels !

John David Crow started at LSU and was abducted by Bear Bryant from campus and taken to A&M, where he won a Heisman.

I agree. People can’t even enjoy this one???? Why worry about “adding” one from the leather helmet era?
