LSU is in the night cap of the second semifinal, which begins at 7 P.M this Friday and will be televised by ESPNU.

The super six championship will be on Saturday, the day after semifinals

The teams in this Semifinal Includes:
LSU
Florida
Georgia
Alabama
Michigan
Nebraska

LSU's Schedule Among 6 Rotations:
1. Bye Before Floor
2. Floor
3. Vault
4. Bye before Bars
5. Bars
6. Beam

Florida:
1. Vault
2. Bye Before Bars
3. Bars
4. Beam
5. Bye Before Floor
6. Floor

Alabama:
1. Floor
2. Vault
3. Bye Before Bars
4. Bars
5. Beam
6. Bye

Georgia:
1. Beam
2. Bye Before Floor
3. Floor
4. Vault
5. Bye Before Bars
6. Bars

Michigan:
1. Bye Before Bars
2. Bars
3. Beam
4. Bye Before Floor
5. Floor
6. Vault

Nebraska:
1. Bars
2. Beam
3. Bye Before Floor
4. Floor
5. Vault
6. Bye

LSU ranks #1 on vault, #2 on beam and floor, and #3 on bars.

Florida ranks #2 on vault, #4 on bars, and #5 on beam and floor.

Alabama ranks #5 on vault, #7 on bars, #4 on beam and #3 on floor.

Georgia ranks #10 on vault, #13 on bars, #15 on beam, #8 on floor.

Michigan ranks #6 on vault, #11 on bars, #7 on beam, and #5 on floor.

Nebraska ranks #13 on vault, #9 on bars, #22 on beam, and #11 on floor.

The top three scores in this semifinal advance to Super Six this Saturday against the top 3 teams from the first semifinal. This is a pretty dangerous region. LSU and Florida are the huge favorites, as both teams have put up much bigger scores than the rest of the other teams. The dark horse of this group is Michigan, when they hit, they are very capable of putting scores up between 197.6 and 197.8.

Projected Lineups for LSU:

Vault:
1. Finnegan
2. Hambrick
3. Ewing
4. Harrold
5. Edney
6. Gnat

Bars:
1. Zamardi
2. Hambrick
3. Harrold
4. Edney
5. Finnegan
6. Priessman

Beam:
1. Macadaeg
2. Hambrick
3. Ewing
4. Edney (Don't discount Lauren Li who has looked incredible in practice this week)
5. Finnegan
6. Gnat

Floor:
1. Ewing
2. Hambrick
3. Zamardi
4. Finnegan
5. Kelley
6. Gnat

No matter how ugly it is, it all that matters is getting into the finals right now. We have seen what this team can do and they can compete with anyone in the country, and that included Oklahoma.

While it might be scary finishing on beam, it can be a good thing if we hit Floor and Vault like we always do. That with a strong bars rotation will carry a lot of momentum to beam, which can be scary.

We have had an incredible week of practice and we are in a great position going into nationals. We have cleaned up small form issues on vault. For the most part, landings on bars have been much better, even Harrold hit quite a few of her landings. Beam we looked flawless, Macadaeg looked really good, good as ever.

All we need to do is be us and we will have zero issues getting to the finals where anyone can really win it.

I know TLDR but people actually care.

I think this year will be pretty exciting. This year has a lot of new faces coming out of the elites. The talent level and difficulty of college gymnastics has been improving every year. Should be pretty exciting. Let me know if anyone is going to St. Louis

If you are a gymnastics follower, you'll be excited to see Skinner, Ross, Kocian, Hundley, Harrold, Gowey, and of course Maggie Nichols.

Its a huge reason why college gymnastics gained so much attention this year.

You say "we" a lot. That leads me to believe you are either on the team, a coach, or somewhat affiliated with the team more then just a fan. Especially when you say

If I happen to be right, then give 'em hell and bring home some hardware!

I am referring to our team, no not on staff or anything but good friends with some of the people on staff. For the record all LSU gymnastics practices are open to the public. Its actually encouraged that you attend, DD and the staff love showcasing the new facility and giving people the opportunity to learn and watch gymnastics.

Also if you go they like to give you posters and random stuff. You also could possibly get signatures but it depends.

You'll have to wait until next season because today was their last practice before they leave for St. Louis

She would love it! A lot of times during inter squads they invite random kids from elementary schools to come enjoy themselves and watch the girls, gives the gymnasts another little crowd but DD loves whenever people come. She wants more people to find interest in this sport. Gymnastics over the years has been getting bigger in the United States. I do have to say she probably does the best job at LSU in terms of promoting and getting people attention. She is really good with people too. I remember standing in the student section before one of LSU's basketball games against Kentucky and DD came and hung out with us, she brought candy too

Awesome woman though, its nice to see her having a lot of success. I remember a couple years ago when we really F'd up with Coureville, Hall, Jordan (We had like 3 or 4 people fall off beam) and everyone said she would never win or touch anything again. We had two weeks of people calling for her resignation/firing. That turned out to be completely false.

Thanks for the report! I am so excited, I can't think about much else this week. I am so insanely nervous for the semifinals. It is a really tough one but I know LSU will get through if they hit like they have all season. I just still have nightmares from a few years back when we were favorites to advance and we had 3 girls fall off beam.

Glad to hear practice is going so well. I saw the post on
Facebook about their best practice yet but I didn't know if that meant because they were hitting so well or if it was because spirits were high and everyone was relaxed. I hope it is a combination of both. I hope we win our semifinals and have the same draw for Super 6. That would give you confidence in finals knowing you already competed that rotation order and did really well with it.

Hopefully OU has the fall off the beam! Gymnastic scoring is anti-upset. If OU is clean they will win because they are ranked # 1.Hoping for some slip ups GEAUX TIGERS!!

LSU and OU are very similar in ways, LSU tends to score more on vaults, due to lsu have multiple 10 start values (5 of 6). OU just crushes us on bars, they have good bar workers. LSU has a lot more difficulty and upside on floor compared to OU. Super Six will all come down to if we can hit beam and bars. I would like at least a 49.400 on bars minimum for us to have a realistic shot but you might not have to, to win. We have seen over the years scores tend to be not what they have been all year due to the quick turn around and because of the pressure.

The nice thing is this team is as experienced as any other club. The freshman have been terrific all year. This won't be an issue for Ruby Harold, she has competed on much bigger stages plenty of times already. Also I think her coaches from GB are flying down to watch her compete this weekend which is awesome

Unfortunately I've got too much stuff going on this weekend so I won't be able to attend.

There are some good restaurants near Chafietz arena though if anyone is looking for something in walking distance. I can help with other recs as well.

The only bad thing about gymnastics....you can't play defense!

I mean, wouldn't it be pretty cool if DD could go stand by the beam when an OU girl is in the middle of her routine and be like

Near the arena (SLU's home arena for basketball) there is Pappy's barbecue. Nationally known barbecue. Very good, very long lines.

In the same building as Pappy's is Southern. A Nashville style hot fried chicken place. Awesome fried chicken.

I wouldn't say either of those are walking distance, but they aren't far at all.

Walking distance from the arena is a pretty nice Italian place called Vito's. They have a good happy hour and their arancini appetizer is very good.

Just behind there is a casual, game day type place called the field house. Sports bar atmosphere, better tap selection than I would have thought.

Also right there is Triumph Grill that I've heard good things about but never been.

Downtown, walkable from Union Station but not advised if at night, is my favorite place Bridge. Very good food, 50 taps, great wine list. Their sister restaurant Range is a burger place down the street from them. Not my favorite burger place in town, but still pretty good. Also in that same family of restaurants is a breakfast/brunch place called Rooster, a block away from Bridge. All of those places have good beer selections as well.

Near mid town (the area kind of between the hotel and the arena) are Urban Chesnut and Schlafly breweries.

Just a little south of downtown in the area called Soulard is a ton more restaurant's, including Pappy's sister place called Bogart's. There is also a great brewery in that neighborhood called 4 Hands.

Also not far from the arena, but definitely driving distance is an area called South Grand. Basically every ethnic restaurant you can think of.

If you want to see a more hopping part of the city, one of the areas where a lot of oung professionals live and go out is the Central West End, near Forest Park. Restaurants and bars everywhere, parking almost nowhere.

Here is a list of the local paper's food guy's Top 100: LINK

I'd definitely take a look at it, he's got pretty good taste. He rates the whole region, so a lot of them may not be that close to yall, but there are probably some on that list I'm forgetting about.
