LSU football is caught in 2 vicious cycles

1 - on the field, we have a schedule that is back loaded in terms of opponent toughness. This has us dominating weaker opponents with a ground game and never truly developing the passing game. Later in the season, when we need to pass, we lack the reps to be consistent.
2 - off the field, we get a lot of press early on. Players get excited and recognized. Once we start losing on the back end, they see the money of the NFL and know that we aren't winning a championship. Most of the draft eligibles bolt and we have a void at leadership. We will be annually young at many positions.
If the philosophy contained in 1 changes, 2 can fix itself.

Alabama under Saben has the same problems but handles it way better than Les.

Those earlier, weaker games should be treated as opportunities to get better and work out the kinks. That schedule should work in our favor.

I think this is one of the more intelligent posts I've read in a while on here.
Seems like every year Bama has a cream puff game b/w LSU and Auburn. So if they slip up, they still have a game to right the ship a little and save the season.

How many times does LSU look like shite in those early games and end up barley winning and playing starters all game, wearing down their legs, getting bumps and bruises. The fan base splits, some saying Bama is going to rape us, the other saying its just Directional U don't worry they will be ready for Bama. Week before Bama game, bye, Les states "It's just another game, It's why kids come to LSU. LSU plays like shite loses, realizes no championship kids emotionally and physically fatigued, fans disgusted and physically fatigued.
That my friend, Is the cycle LSU football is in.

You said the same thing I did, just with different words.
And, Bama does not deal with as many early draft entries as we do. Look at their starters, lots of seniors
