What are your thoughts on him as a former player and representative of LSU? I was telling a buddy of mine (non-LSU guy) that he could be the most disliked former player of LSU covering all sports. He thought I was crazy.

What are your thoughts?

Is this how Joey Albert Belle was viewed in the 90s?

If he only the team had a better coach while he was here.

That era of Bball will always go down as a "What Could Have Been" moment to me. In the end, you had a terrible coach who couldn't reign in a kid with obvious attitude problems. When they seemingly bailed on postseason play because the NIT wasn't good enough or whatever, I think they alienated everyone.

Spent more time in LSU classrooms than many who call themselves Tigers

A perfect example of why rule allowing "one and done" should be eliminated.

One of if not the most hyped players ever to come in that has and will be the most quickly forgotten! I will go out on a limb here and say that Ben will do nothing for LSU down the road.

He was a one and done regardless and he could have went anywhere in the country. But he chose LSU.

Not this shite again. Can we just forgive the kid for having 2 play for JJ and move one. He a once in a generation talent that will be in the hall of fame deal with it.

Great talent wasted on a bad team with a worse coach. However, his lack of maturity and attitude about all of that was very disappointing.

No. Most loved Belle. A few didn't like his antics, but he was a great player so most overlooked his foolishness.

Our program, coach and fan base didn't deserve a player of his caliber

I don’t understand the ‘hate’ towards him. He was a one and done from the beginning and only came here cause of his godfather. Those guys can’t go pro immediately and just coast through the one year to their millions. He was really impressive to watch at times!

The only and really upsetting part was rejecting the NIT bid. I’ve never heard of a team quitting like that. That team had no fire under Jones. Fun to watch sometimes but very lazy and unorganized. He still came here though and I like watching him and Embiid

Anyone who dislikes Ben Simmons because of some perceived slight against LSU is fricking stupid
