LSU defense was very solid last night.

Knew it would take sometime. I still believe Miles was having input on defense with BDP working with OLB. Coach O removing BDP was necessary. You never saw BDP try to discuss anything with O. With Miles, he was in his ear all game on sidelines. Joe Alleva did the right thing last night. 6 games too late.

I think solid is a bit of an understatement

The defense just shut down one of the top offenses in the conference and almost held them scoreless. Phenomenal effort by those guys.

Defense is going to be great. They were last night but I am saying in time they are going to be even better. I was pissed mizzou had to use trickery to get a td

They've gotten better every week. Coach Aranda needs a raise.

I told a buddy this last night. I think we proved as much last night. Our guys dominated.

I believe miles wanted to play it safe thus the WR had cushions in the past. Last night they were man to man stuck like glue.
Missouri had 2 blockers on key most of the game. If other teams follow, aranda is going to make them pay.

First time in a while I woke up Sunday Morning super satisfied with LSU the previous day.

Last night. The defense has been great all year despite miles tampering with it.

When they showed the line-up on TV at one early point in the game, and knowing what most of us know from a recruiting standpoint over the last several years, that list of 11 players read like a damn all-star/pro bowl/1st team All American list of players to me. And the attitude/nastiness is getting downright scary. They obviously got under the skin of the Missouri players. Who woulda thought we'd almost have a halftime brawl with frikin Mizzou. The tackle by Godchaux near the middle of the second half when he just levels the little running back after about a 2 yard game. Did anyone notice the fierceness of that hit, all the while being sure not to use his helmet, but a clean shoulder pad only de-cleating. Aranda may end up being the real key to continued success. We need to make sure that guy is kept happy; well compensated; and around here for a long time. Co-head coach! Heard the term used, but has anyone ever actually done it. Or do we just do like Dallas did when they paid Garrett 10 X's what they were paying Wade Phillips.

Pretty smart idea. But he still had several good plays. Including a partial sack I believe.

And in specific response to the trick play TD, I felt just the opposite. Why burn a perfectly good trick play on a meaningless TD as far as the game outcome, when you might need to keep that play in your pocket against a more equal opponent in a game that may decide bowl fate. Shows you how demoralized the Miz. team was in the eyes of their coach. And a little humility for the great D at the end, especially with that play (which is in everyone's, playbook) is a good reminder for future growth. Play the whole 60 minutes. Take no prisoners. Hate to use another Dallas Cowboy reference, but have the Jimmy Johnson attitude. Recall the heat he took in the year of his 2nd Super Bowl team before Jones pissed him off. That was the NFL and teams were complaining of his running up the score and knocking the crap out of guys when the game was in hand. Kinda like when we turned the corner in Saban's 3rd year and humiliated Florida on their own turf (of course, lost Matt Flynn in the process, or we'd likely have another Natty, but I don't care. Teams have been laughing at us for years. Its payback time)

It's going to take some time but we're going to have to get out of the whole mindset of "saving" plays for other teams.

I loved it when Beckwith just crushed their running back. I was like holy shite! Lol

Kendall Beckwith absolutely destroyed a running back. You could hear that pop on tv

Yea that brought me out my seat

Couldnt agree more.
I think you mis-interpreted my point, but that was my fault.
Earlier post from another ranter read in part:
"...I was pissed mizzou had to use trickery to get a td"
My point was, I just thought it was telling that Missou had to use a trick play to score, for nothing other than a "moral victory"; i.e, avoid a shutout. I was speaking from the standpoint of the Missouri team/coaching staff.
come to think of it though, when was the last time an SEC opponent even needed a "moral victory" TD against us!
