Spurrier just mentioned USCe cost of attendance payout to players will be 4200 per player. This is supposedly on the high end of SEC schools. Anybody have any idea what LSU's number is?

$850 if they'd start housing the players at El Cid or Gaslight.

LSU is $3680
With the sales tax B.R. has? They might want to up that.

Those numbers do not look accurate.
A&M is definitely more expensive.

I cannot believe the SEC will allow the big differentials in this program. Recruits could consider where they'll make the most money and that could influence their decisions.

LSU Official Cost of Attendence 2014-15
The document linked above is what LSU publishes as COA for financial aid purposes. It is what I use to justify my withdrawals from a 529 account for my kids. I do not know what the football program is counting and not counting in arriving at the number that was published for football aid to atheletes.
note: every school has similar document for financial aid.

quote:these numbers make absolutely no sense to me. There is no way it's more expensive to live in Starkvegas and Auburn than it is in Nashville. IF cost of flying into those cities is part of the equation then maybe, but not that big of a difference. Vandy and Georgia will lose recruits. And Bama will lose recruits to Auburn.
Alabama: $3,298
Arkansas: $4,002
Auburn: $5,586
Florida: $3,320
Georgia: $1,798
Kentucky: $3,536
LSU: $3,680
Mississippi: $4,500
Mississippi State: $5,126
Missouri: $3,664
South Carolina: $4,151
Tennessee: $5,666
Texas A&M: $3,100
Vanderbilt: $2,730
But I think the SEC will make the FCoA the same across the board.

On the face of it those numbers don't make much sense. We are either missing something here about what these numbers entail, or this is a complete crock.

Read the article. Even the author knows its bullshite and chaos but there's no easy way to do it.

The takeaway is obvious here. There is no way this will fly. Not only do some schools offer more than others, but there is no rhyme or reason to why one is greater than the other

It's been going up the past decade it seems. I don't think tuition was above 2,000 a semester for instate students when I went from 2000-2004
