That is truly remarkable and hard to fathom after watching LSU basketball the last several years.

But here we are, in mid February and if we win out (regular season and tourney), we are likely a 1 seed.

I don’t expect that to happen, maybe 1% chance, but the fact that we’re even in that position is mind blowing and major props to Will Wade and what he’s done here.

This is special.

I’ll take a 3 seed not in Duke’s bracket please.

Can we get a sell out other than Tennessee? This team is truly unbelievable. Youth foul trouble and down on the road at home who cares!!!!

Yep. That would be the worst possible draw.

In the SEC Tournament. I hope that's what you meant. Even if LSU wins out they're likely not jumping Duke, Gonzaga, Virgina and Michigan. You could also make a case for Nevada

Well said. I’m not expecting a 1 seed, but to even fathom that’s a possibility right now is mind boggling. I’d be ecstatic with a top 5-6 seed or shite, just being in the dance after the last decade+.

Yet here we are. Year 2 under Wade, just beat a top 5 Kentucky team on the road where they never lose, and talking about a 1 seed

Life is crazy man

Um, no they don't. You give them 1% chance? That's hardly controlling their own destiny. LSU could win ever game from this point forward and they still wouldn't be a 1 seed.

They haven’t even played a quadrant 1 game yet this year. No way

If we win out we WILL be a #1 seed in the dance. Winning out includes beating the #1 team (TN) once maybe twice.

If LSU is 17-1 in the league, sorry they're not gonna be anything but a #1... That's just facts

I give them 1% chance to win out because of the schedule and strength of the SEC this year.

But if we were to win out and win the SEC tourney, we are almost certainly a 1 seed. Hence, controlling our own destiny even if I think it’s very unlikely.

If LSU and Kentucky beat Tennessee then LSU can even drop another game this season and still get the 1 seed in the SEC tourney. Amazing where we are right now

LSU is not jumping the top four teams I listed even if they win out. Now if Michigan fricks up tonight vs Penn St then they may have a debate. They'll likely finish as a #2 probably ranked #5 or #6.

If LSU wins out we would be 30-4, with at least one win over current top 5 Kentucky and #1 Tennessee (most likely we'd have to beat at least one of them in the SEC tourney for a second win), an SEC tourney championship and winning 23 of our last 24 games?

I think we'd have a decent shot at a #1 if that was our resume.

Realistically speaking, we won’t “win out”. However, I’ll take letting the cards fall and a very realistic 3.
