What I find particularly exciting is that this is a man who is accustomed to watching PROFESSIONALS practice and perform and yet is gushing about LSU's players

are you talking about football or the shower scene after practice? I just couldn't be sure

Anyone else notice the Wr's had no separation last year? I assumed they were running bad routes. Think about the best route runners at LSU. Wendell Davis and Josh Reed. Both were always alone and open. This wasnt due to foot speed....

Thank you Baltimore for letting Cam go and finally, thank you Les for getting an offensive coordinator.

Intelligent discussion about offense is a good change.

88# is going to get some attention if Cam likes route runners.

This what I touched on earlier about Dural. He runs smooth routes which will help to create separation along with his speed. Thing was, when guys were open last year, it was downfield were Mett was his worst.

I hope Cam's instructions transfer to the field because you start to wonder if it's just the players.

both were great route runners, but play design will help as well.

1) Almost universally 2 (or even 1) receiver routes because of the run game and max protection schemes (Note: this video addresses the fallacy of "max protection")

2) LSU had no TALL and fast receivers of note. OBJ had to assume a role that was not his best. This year, Travin Dural will lift the top off of the D (think Reuban Randle)

3) I read that the entire route running has been changed. Last season, they used "chop or stutter step" cuts. This season, it is "plant one foot and go" theory

4) There were many alignments and personnel groupings that only had ONE play associated with it. This year, many plays can come from every alignment

5) TEs and RBs will catch passes.

There will be faster execution, better timing, AND separation in the passing game.

Yea, it's what you might call average "route-running", but I think all 4 of them were called on to be a #1 receiver and spread out wide all-alone and beat their guy when none of them were capable of doing it consistently. Hopefully they worked harder this off-season with Mett since they know how tough it is now. I expect our play-action to improve, and I expect receiving production from the RBs and TEs to relieve pressure from the WRs. Whether we can pass block seems the key. No one from last year was a legitimate deep threat tho. That's up to Leslie or Dural.

Man I enjoy listening to him explain the offensive side of the game. You can tell that he has been a professional at the highest level.

I love CC as the OC but man listening to that, I had to do a double take. The guy sounds like Saban at times and moves the hands also. Thought that was funny.

That's because he's Saban's idle and Saban spent years practicing emulating him...much like Moscona did with Jim Rome

It is my opinion that the single most important improvement that Cam Cameron can make for this offense is via the improvement of our pass protection.

If that happens, this offense will take at least two steps forward and could be scary good by the end of the year.

That may be the most intelligent thing an LSU OC ever said.

Good god I have such a boner right now.

Just watching and listening to Coach Cameron speak should give you some confidence that we finally have a real OC who knows what he's doing! Can't wait to see him in action
