LSU CAN accept transfers with only 1 year of eligibility

It has been said on here many times that there is an SEC rule prohibiting this. There was such a rule, but it has since been repealed. LSU can take Braxton Miller or any other transfer with 1 year of eligibility left:

Yes, Mett played at LSU but let's not pretend it was his first choice and there were normal circumstances that brought him here. He got run off from UGA, went JC and LSU was a good landing spot because as usual our QB situation wasn't the best. I'm not saying it was career suicide but his choices to play SEC football and see the field were probably limited b y that point in his career.
Here we are a few years later with a shaky QB situation. I'd argue there isn't another school that is as close to having all the pieces to the puzzle coming into next season (minus the QB position) than LSU.

If anything it strengthens an argument that Miller could conceivably come here and be successful

I went on to argue that Miller to LSU could be a good fit.
Just pointing out that Mett had limited choices. And while it wasn't career suicide it's unlikely that he would have ever chosen LSU under normal circumstances.
