Incorrect, LSU is not considered a mid-major in any sport.

I'm sure there are actual guidelines, but I consider any conference in the FBS of football to be major and teams in the FCS to be mid-major.

jesus.

he didn't call lsu a mid major.

i am surprised many of you can even log on to the internet.

It's pretty clear when you state a category, follow it with a colon, then a list, you are classifying the items on that list in that category.

What does that even mean?

Simple. If you're calling an SEC team a "mid-major", then you're popping off about the SEC being down this year.

I didn't read the article, but was going by the posts... If the author said something more like "they're schedule or performance is equal to other 'mid-major' schools, that's obviously different.

I retract my statement, if my understanding of what happened was incorrect.

I don't think he called LSU BB a mid major. He said they appear like an excellent mid-major for the reasons he stated. I see a difference.

I think what some of the posters are trying to say is that the term Mid Major technically has nothing to do with how good of a basketball team you are

Are you talking to me or to the person that started the thread, and those who perceived the commentary as an LSU slight?

Just saying because of week schedule and weaker than usual SEC, LSU's seeding may be more like a mid-major school with a similar record. Was it that hard to understand?

No, it wasn't. But, look at the title of the thread.

And, just another thought for you guys that are so smart and upon whom we rely so greatly for enlightenment - if you write an article like that, and you put the word "excellent" in there... it reeks of sarcasm.
