Jaime got hurt as then went crazy but yes that 04 team was headed to the tourney as well. Had just beat Florida in the O-Dome. Was something like 18-4 and then went on a downward spiral and was something like 1-6 to end the regular season after his injury.

Florida hasn't exactly been tearing it up OOC.

04' team was as good as anyone in the country before Jaime got hurt. That is a definitely a team of "what could have been"

I honestly think everyday people are beginning to realize we maybe weren't that bad off with Brady at the helm.

Didn't we get into the final sixteen in Brady's third year?
How long will it take to repeat Brady's record.

And we never will. Deal with it. After the constant bashing of the coach and its program by smart guys like you and hundreds of others on the site, and after being called every name in the book by you geniuses who KNEW that LSU would never be a force under John Brady, of course it felt good when my Final Four prediction that got me laughed at online, in the office, in class, on the street, and everywhere else imaginable in 2004 & 2005 (people couldn't decide whether I was joking or actually insane), turned out to be completely right.

We were right along. We knew it all along. We won. Brady Bashers lost because they aren't smart people. And I'll never let them forget it. Never ever ever. It's what you assholes get. Deal with it.

So what you are saying, Brady sucked at recruiting. Once Temple was done handing him over the local BR talent, Brady was done as a recruiter. ( and for the record he was an extremely overrated x & o guy, for some reason he got a pass on that because he yelled like a fool)

Semi-unrelated Landry and Warner the founders of Walk-Ons don't even claim Brady, on their website they mention inspiration from Dale Brown...always thought that was funny.

Brady's final six years: 111-69 (47-40), SEC title, 3NCAA, NIT, final four
Six post-Brady years: 106-90 (43-57), SEC title, NCAA, 2NIT

I hope the E Guarantee is happy.

By whom?

Brady was a great x guy and not a great o guy. Pretty sure everyone everywhere agrees with this.

And we haven't had any good coaches since Brady, we know this. This doesn't make Brady good.

Look, Brady ran into a ridiculous amount of local talent at once that Butch Pierre got for him. That's all that Brady will be remembered for. ANY coach could have gone tourney deep with the team Pierre assembled for him.

If any Brady Steamroller needed to know how good a coach he actually was take notice he's been stuck at Arkansas State for 7 seasons now and still hasn't even got them to ANY sort of tournament appearance.

Fwiw i saw slight improvement in the Clemson game from the TTU game. Everything seems to get better but our Jump shots... which just so happens to be the most important part about basketball

It means that firing him for Johnson accomplished nothing. I'm confident that Jones will be better than Brady in the long run, so, great. But as far as firing Brady for Johnson? The joke's on the E Guarantees out there, it turns out.

Brady let them walk-on as a courtesy.
I love how everyone gives Butch and Collis all the credit for JB's success, there are guys like that on every successful bb program in the country. JB would still be here no doubt if Tasmin and Chris Johnson would have played half the games the year we fired him. Some day JB will get the credit he deserves for taking this program over after Dale Brown left our program all for dead. Took us to the sweet sixteen in his third year and probably would have done it again had Jaime not gotten hurt in 04. Firing JB like we did set this program back and we still have not recovered although we are on our way back with CJJ.

Not every hire after another is better, shite happens. Brady HAD to go, he had driven the program into the ground with no sight of recovery.
