Bracketology 18 Jan

At this rate, a win @ aTm might make us a #1 seed

if (and that's a big if) we beat aTm, it might move us into the bracket so long as we don't crash and burn the rest of the way.

Win both road games this week and we are then currently in, pretty simple story.

A&M's 6'10 guy being suspended is a big help. They are a little short on bigs without him and Victor/Simmons get guys in foul trouble every game.

If they're on the bubble they'll get in. People want to see Simmons in the tourney badly.

yep, and a trip to the dance where the 68th bid can be the best team in the country!

your football logic doesn't translate to basketball...

No way this team should be fightning for a spot with the likes of teams of seton hall, oregon st, etc

Equally as important, we are battling for first place in the conference. While there aren't any great teams in the SEC, it is fairly solid top to bottom. A top 4 finish in the Conference would probably get us in (assuming the losses aren't terrible).

I agree 100%. Unfortunately, that's where the team is at this point and there is no way to change the ugly Nov./Dec. performances. That said, if LSU can keep winning, they can change the narrative of their season. It would almost be like two seasons. The first part without their 2nd and 3rd leading scorers and the second part with them

This, like the first week of SEC play, is one that presents opportunities that could define the season. A&M is clearly the best team in the SEC right now and Bama has a good RPI. If they can somehow win both games this week, then they likely put themselves in a position to make the NCAAT

+1

SECN bball crew has maintained that the selection committee will (should) grade LSU post Hornsby/Victor return.

So, like someone else pointed out, they do want Simmons in the postseason. But, it's not LSU's most valid sticking point.

Just win, baby!

10-4 in the remaining games and make it to the 3rd round of the SEC playoffs. Anything below that and we will need a lot of help.
