I don't care that the dome was a bad venue, it still was exciting to go see a game in there and try to set an attendance record.

I'd love to play in a tournament every Feb in either Houston or even Florida. It would help with recruiting and your RPI.

This x1000. Not going outside of the state of LA for OOC was embarrassing. IF the Tigers are on the edge for a top 8 seed, it could work against them as even the teams that did come in were garbage. I'm not saying go cross country but what happened to playing even someone like Houston?

LSU is not going on the road for a non-conference weekend for $$$ reasons. At least next year, the teams we have coming in are better than this year (although App State is turning out to be a pretty solid club).

If you bring in a team like Rice you'll certainly bring a bigger crowd than say Alcorn St or equally bad team.

Arkansas came to Houston for the Minute Maid Classic and they've got one of the biggest baseball stadiums in the country and routinely fill it up. Yet they still deemed it worthy to come. LSU should be asking Rice about coming for the 2013 Minute Maid Classic.

Hey I wish LSU would go on the road once too. But LSU has 9,000 season tickets sold no matter who the opponent is. The AD has said they are not giving 3 games of that up to play anywhere.

1. Arkansas may be 3rd in the country in attendance, but we draw 33% more fans than they do (per last year's numbers).

2. Our revenue per attendee is at least triple what their's is.

Arkansas went there and played Texas Tech, Houston and Texas. RPIs 95, 65 and 37. Competition-wise, LSU is better off getting App State (RPI of 38) or Fullerton to come to LSU for 3.

I agree it was not very good. But what I did like was the big crowds and the quality competition early in the season.

For awhile, every big time program wanted to play in the challenge.

1987: Miami, Florida, Florida St

1988: Cal St Fullerton, USC, UCLA

1989: Okla St, Oral Roberts, Okla

1990: Miss St, Ole Miss, S Miss

1991: Miami, Florida, Florida St

1992: Ga Tech, Georgia, Ga Southern

1993: Miss St, Ole Miss, S Miss

1994: Auburn, S Alabama, Bama

1995: Lamar, Houston, Texas A & M

1996: Miss St, Ole Miss, S Miss

1997: N Carolina, NC St, Duke

1998: Miss St, Ole Miss, S Miss

I think I made most of those games. Good memories.

That was a Skip coaching technique, not really an LSU thing, I'm sure they don't do it anymore

They did it w/ Smoke too and I don't know what you're talking about when you say "coaching technique". The guys had a towel and pulled it out in pressure situations symbolizing and exuding togetherness and confidence in one another. This isn't a technique as much as it's a philosophy, and it's been in LSU baseball as long as I can remember.
