How do you explain last year? If you give him credit for the woes of this year, can you not also give him props for the clinic that was on display last year?

Last year, it was sarcasm.

Maybe from a few people, but not most.

We aren't as good, no one would question that. As for ammunition I guess it depends on how much you believe is due to him and how much he has control over.

The way some people are defending him is pretty disgusting.

Your logic is what gave him credit for scoring 27 runs Tuesday night.

If neither years on Javi's shoulders, then fine. He's pointless. Which is where I stand. I think he needs to go.

Yeah. But I do have enough money to visit your chicken place.
Now dust the flour off your keyboard and and get back to work.

I think he has always struggled as far as keeping these guys hitting consistent. Sure we have flashes of awesome but being spotty like that through a whole season shows. Other teams find ways to be consistent, why can't we?

I know it's baseball, and it can be streaky but we just seem to have a hard time filing the holes when others are not. Skip Bertman and his staff were masters at doing just that. When one guy was having trouble another dude would get hot. I just don't see how some of these teams manage to stay consistent without blaming the hitting coach.

We were very consistent all throughout last year, actually. Laird was up and down some. He's the only one I can recall.

The posts like the one you replied to are how the typical conversation on this topic goes. I would have no problem having a rational discussion about it and would probably even concede some points. But 99% of the stuff posted doesn't make sense and isn't based in any kind of reality.

I watched a lot of baseball last year and we seemed to be improving, but then bam, we get to this year and back to being spotty again. I know there is transition on any team, new guys coming in might take a few games to get adjusted but that still doesn't account for the guys who are sophomores, juniors and seniors. Prime example, Bregman was swinging a boat paddle last year and this year he has struggled. Since Paul hired Javi, we have struggled more than a lot of fans are used to.

Well said. There was a time, long ago, when you could have good debates on this board.
