I never really thought about it before but at this time of the year exactly what the hell do they do in practice? I understand the pitchers throwing a pre set number to keep their arms right and some batting practice but I just can't see a long practice. anyone know for sure?

What a dumb comment. That is like saying why do professional teams hold practice? You can never get enough reps at anything. Ground/fly balls, throwing to the cutoff man, baserunning, etc.

He said at this point in the year.. They just do some light stuff now, it's not like they're learning new thing.
