Takeaways from the numbers listed above:

1. Alex Lange could very well be the next Ben McDonald of the Pitching Rotation. He has a good mix of pitches from fastball to changeup, he has the stamina to pitch plenty of innings, and he can strikeout anyone. He isn't afraid of a single batter he has faced this season, not one. He is on pace to win the SEC and National Freshmen of the Year Award but there is still plenty of baseball to be played.

Stat Line: 4-0, 1.45 ERA, 31.0 IP, 20 H, 5 ER, 39 K, 8 BB, 0.185 Opp. BA

2. Alex Bregman is playing like he is in a contract year and it is amazing for LSU. He wants to show MLB scouts he can do more than just hit and play defense so he decided to steal bases and is near the top of the Nation in SB's and has already passed his SB total from 2014 when he finished with 12. Not to mention the long ball is starting to come around more consistently and he now 5, one less than his 2014 total.

3. LSU is not just the 3rd best hitting team in the Nation, they are disciplined in the box. One of the most underrated stats in baseball is the Toughest to Strikeout stat. It measures how many At Bat's a player has before he strikes out. It is an average basically to show you how certain players just plain don't strikeout too often. LSU has four players ranked in the top ten in the SEC.

4. Jesse Stallings is a Freshmen (Medical RS) and finally played like he was human last weekend against Ole Miss. I noticed some Ranter's claiming he is done, the ride is over, forget about him, etc...

Guess what? He is our Closer for 2015. He has proven himself worthy of the job and will remain so unless he gets destroyed for the next two weekends. Then he might have to slow down. But he hasn't done anything to lose the Closer job just yet even after his poor showing against Ole Miss.
