Hey we can get revenge on Houston in Minute Maid next year

No. Sorry. They have no fans. It's like getting revenge against UNO. I'm in Houston half the work days, and I never come across Houston fans.

Its been said numerous times that by numerous posters that he will leave if drafted, mostly because of the playing time issue he had here

In an interview with WBRZ after the final Houston game Moore said, speaking of Aaron Nola's leaving for the pros, "We're going to miss him next year."

Does that sound like something someone would say if that person already knows he himself will not be with the team next year?

Chinea will not be the full time starter at catcher next season.

Thanks for posting that. Interesting. Still think he will leave though.
Did you take a hiatus for 24 hours after the season ended?

Doesn't really mean much. He's not gonna say "I'd miss him if I were staying next year."

You're welcome. I almost jumped out of my chair last night when I heard him say that during the 10 o'clock sports.

He might be leaving depending on where he is drafted, but his spontaneous remark in that interview gives me the impression his decision to leave is not a sure thing at this point as some on here have claimed it is.

Yes....more like 72 hours. I wanted to avoid the usual meltdown which happens here when the team loses. Plus I was waiting for my bleeding to stop.

Slightly OT, but I would definitely be interested in your opinion on the pitching moves made in our first regional loss.

I have confidence that Alan Dunn makes the best pitching decisions he can based on the available information at the time.

Did he tell Bouman to give him 6 strong innings even before the game started?

Did he tell Bouman at the end of the 5th inning to give him one more inning with all he had left and then turn it over to McCune (who had done a great job shutting down Florida for the last two innings in the SEC Championship game)?

Did Bouman tell Dunn he was running out of gas, which was apparent from the 2-3 mph drop off in his fastball pitch velocity from the start of the game?

I don't know the answer to any of those questions but I do completely trust Dunn's pitcher coaching expertise.

If I were to question anything it is why did Dunn allow McCune to stay in so long when it was obvious he didn't have his best stuff?

But that's pretty much hindsight which is always 20/20.

Thanks.

Obviously for those that follow baseball avidly, the Bouman question is an explainable, acceptable and plausible scenario.

Leaving in McCune and going to Fury instead of Broussard w 6 outs remaining was more of what I'm asking.

Interesting to me that you cite Dunn instead of Mainieri. Is it your opinion Dunn made these moves?

Of course as head coach the buck stops with Mainieri, but yes, Dunn makes the pitching decisions.

That was made clear in the Advocate's article last week on Dunn's responsibilities with the pitching staff and his relationship with Mainieri.

I'm glad Dunn makes those decisions for two reasons: 1) He knows more about pitching and his pitchers than Mainieri does, and 2) if Mainieri interfered with Dunn's pitching decisions I don't think we would have Dunn with us much longer.

Well, that does better explain to me Mainieri's hysterionics in the dugout.

And would also explain why he hasn't addressed any of it, too.

If so, I'm somewhat relieved to hear that going forward.

But, it still leaves a mark on me in regards to Dunn and his ability to manage a situation.

If Broussard doesn't have an undisclosed injury, and only had one inning of prior work, it's baffling beyond the point of idiocy the timing of his insertion.

I don't expect Dunn to be 100% correct with his decisions 100% of the time.

That would be unrealistic, IMO.
