This argument may have held some water in previous years but there were no LSU players available at a sensible value this year. As far as the guys they've passed on in previous years you have to consider that the teams in front of them also passed on them. Drafting local guys for the sake of appeasing a fan base is a quick way to be unemployed. That being said the saints aren't exactly the envy of the league when it comes to drafting people

Have you looked at their fan base? Most are crazy Nola people.
I do pull for the Saints.
It drives my family crazy, but I see them as a local team so I'm pulling for them.

I understand the Lattimore pick. Many considered Lattimore was the best CB in the draft. The hamstring issues are worrisome, but I understand the upside. I wouldn't have been too upset with Tre White, but I'm not sure he's worth the 11th pick.

The Browns are 88-200 since rejoining the league in 1999 and have started 26 QBs. I'm not saying the Saints are the gold standard of the NFL but you compared them to arguably the worst franchise in all of pro sports. Not my fault you made an exaggerated argument that is wrong.

Louisiana's football team is LSU! NOLA's football team is the Saints. I am so sick of these damn threads about why the Saints do draft LSU players! Please put it on the SAINTS BOARD so that we dont have to see this garbage all the time! I just wish the Saints had moved to San Antonio or Los Angeles and saved the state tax payers $400 million that goes to the richest man in Louisiana and extortionist, Tom Benson!

It was intentionally exaggerated, but my point is the Saints are hot garbage (they will be as long as Payton is there) and I'd rather see Tigers players go somewhere they can be successful.
