LSU and Mediocrity

It seems we have come to accept 9-3 with 11-1 talent as alright. I say that is the wrong line of thinking. That is a loser style of thinking. It's almost as if the media tells us "how dare you try to be better than almighty Bama" what I say is "how dare you, ESPN and all other sports media try and tell us how good we can be."
I'm tired of the loser mentality this fan base has. Why is it so terrible and unrealistic for me to want and expect more from the coaching staff and team? I for one am tired of eeking out victories on teams we should blow out. I'm tired of not only losing to but getting our asses whipped by rivals (Arky, Bama, Ole Miss) we have a ~.500 winning percentage in the SEC the last three years. Yet that is acceptable for a lot of fans and apparently for the brass at LSU and TAF.
We're not even competing for the west anymore. Yall have adapted the Les Miles mentality. And we will not win with that mentality. But go ahead, call me crazy for wanting championships and playoff appearances all so yall can retain that whacky, zany, nice guy Les Miles.
And continue to be mediocre.

3rd straight year we are out of the west race with a month to spare. Highest paid coaching staff in the country. I hate the mentality as well.

The problem with that though process is that, yea, we're fine with 11-1 talent and we're still having 9-3 seasons. What happens when we have 9-3 talent in a few years after elite guys quit committing to LSU? Let's see how much the "9-3 is good!!1!!!!" crowd likes it when we're 5-7 with 8-4 talent

So just because LSU was horrible in the 90s means we should just bend over and accept this mediocrity now? Sadly this is the mindset a lot of LSU fans have accepted..

The cult of fans that worship Les Miles more than they actually support LSU are to blame here. It's going to take another year or two of constant mediocrity to grind them out to finally move this program on from a coach that is stuck in the 70s and 80s.
Removing Les Miles is going to be a fight of attrition with that cult.
