I thought I would rehash this post from a couple of years ago since I just read a great biography of the Pistol. Do Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey deserve a spot on the bench?

My starters plus 8 man bench:

#33 Shaquille O'Neal
Position: Center
Height: 7'1"
Weight: 294 lbs.

#50 Bob Pettit
Position: Forward
Height: 6'9"

#35 Chris Jackson
Position: Guard
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 168 lbs.

#23 Pete Maravich
Position: Guard
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 190 lbs.

#40 Durand "Rudy" Macklin
Position: Forward
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 205 lbs.

On the bench:

Howard "Hi-C" Carter
Glen "Big Baby" Davis
Stromile Swift
Ethan Martin
Don Redden
Brandon Bass
Tyrus Thomas
Marcus Thornton

I would stack this team up against any other school's all stars in the country...

Elvin Hayes
Calvin Natt
Karl Malone
Willis Reed
Louis Dunbar

...It could've been so much better.

I don't know if I agree with Tyrus Thomas being included. I loved him during the Final Four run, but he was a one-trick pony and he only impacted 1 season.

You need to find a spot for Ronald Dupree and Torris Bright on Brady's all-star squad and scratch Minor and Randolph.

Jerry "Ice" Reynolds and Dwayne Scales should be in consideration as well for the bench from the OP.

Ronald Dupree, Tasmin Mitchell, John Williams, Derrick Taylor belong in this conversation.

No disrespect to any of the bench players, they were all very good, they don't come close to comparing to top basketball programs benches.

While I first team is very good and can compete with any schools first team, schools like UCLA, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, Indiana and a few others can go 15 - 20 deep with little to no drop off with All Americans and NBA all stars.
