That wasn't the question.

Side note: Holtz might have a heart attack if ND plays USCe for the title.

Everyone ahead of Bama lost is why they got in. And they proved that they belonged. If 9-6 had been the other way around and the same scenario unfolded, LSU would have got in as well.

If only bc the game was at Bama and LSU's schedule was vastly more difficult. We already knew Bama was a good team. But they did not deserve a rematch any more than Michigan in 2006 deserved it's rematch against OSU.

100% agree.

The media shouldn't be able to "steer" votes.

Bama didn't win their half of the conference, let alone the conference.

Yet we're going to put them in the game to a team that already beat them. Makes no sense.

I'm not saying Bama isn't a great team but these conference championships need to mean something.

The Big 12 conf. champs last year are wondering "wtf? We won the conference.

The only hope we had was to destroy OU and we did. And?"

Why even play for a conference championship if the media will "steer" votes to who they think should be in the game?

I saw a 5 min segment on Alabama vs Oregon on tv in the national championship game like it's going to take place tomorrow. Ridiculous.

look, the two best teams should play. that's what happened last year. the rest of the country can go play soccer for all i care, they got it right last year. i hope they get it right this year. if notre dame runs the table, they deserve in. they have a legit schedule. i dont see that happening, but thats why we play the games. if we run the table from this point out, then theres only one team that will have a gripe, bama.

ND undefeated means they're in. Solid enough schedule, and not a lot of undefeated teams left.

LSU/Bama with 1 loss... leaves a lot to be determined. LSU one loss means we win out, including the SEC championship. That removes South Carolina, Bama, Florida, (and Miss St) from the SEC. Still leaves Oregon and WVA as possible undefeated....

1) Oregon vs Notre Dame
2) Oregon vs West Virginia
3) Notre Dame vs West Virginia

in that order. Oregon is in if they win out. West Virginia likely needs to be one of only two undefeated teams.

LSU is currently the highest ranked 1 loss team, and I think they would remain that way...

edited to add:
Notre Dame isn't DEFINITELY IN yet; Oregon would play Bama/Fla/South Carolina, if both undefeated. Undefeated SEC is 1st; undefeated Oregon is 2nd. Undefeated Notre Dame is 3rd. Undefeated West Virginia is 4th.

Uhhh. No, it does not.

Bama does NOT have to win the SEC to be put in the NCG.

Remember the segment on ESPN last year (one of you rantards linked it up) where the debate was "IF LSU loses the SECCG to Georgia, do they have the right to rematch Bama in New Orleans"?

How soon you people forget.

LSU would be in ahead of Bama by virtues of head to head win and sec champ. One loss non-SEC champ won't get in over undefeated ND, oregon or WV

No doubt if Bama & ND win out they will play for all the marbles as both are the Media's darlings. Especially Bama getting a mulligan last year. If Saban hadn't been the coach it would not have happened. :rimshot:

Winning your conference has nothing to do with playing for the BCS title. Their job is to find the two best teams in college football. Last year there was no question LSU deserved to play in that game. Their job was to find the second best team. The fact that Bama didn't win their division was completely irrelevant. They had the misfortune of playing in the same division as the #1 team. Who cares if another team won their confrence, that doesn't mean they were better than Bama....it just meant they were playing ina s hittier conference. I cannot comprehend anyone STILL crying about Bama getting the nod as the $2 team before the game.

Based on the OP's original post, it will be LSU vs ND only if Oregon, KS and WV slip.
