Sorry, it's not. A sport's hernia is not related to abdomin pain. Unless you consider your balls your abdomen. I've had one. Matter of fact, I still do. It only causes pain at times with no other symptoms. No reason for me to have it operated on currently. Most times, no symptoms. Others, it feels like my right nut is in a vice. Of course, mine is mild, and I have no idea how severe his was. His likely was much worse, thus the need for surgery.
