i was a sophmore in the student section. i remember there was a rush to the field with time
still left on the clock that completely engulfed
the lsu and ole miss players....i can't remember
the lsu player but he was returning a punt headed
into the mass of students in the north end.

that was a culmination of a crazy ole miss week
with mess hall food fights, panty raids and pep rallies all week.

i believe not long after that game they erected the metal fence around the field and did away with the hedges in north end zone

I was 5 years old and it is the first game that I remember. The week leading up to the Ole Miss game was huge back then.

My Dad and I where listening to the game on the radio, my mother was watching a movie on the TV.

After the second punt return my Dad had enough and went into the TV room and switched the game on.

Then the shite hit the fan.

We won out and got to watch Ronnie Estay lay Archie Manning down and just wrap him up on a sack instead of trying to hurt him.

How much of a chance would Archie had had, playing with a broken arm in a cast against someone like Fairley/

1977 ? Tommy was tearing it up for the Bengals in 1977.

1977 was the year Carlos Carson went off on Rice in a 77-0 win.

How many of the "Older and Wiser" on here (Besides me) were actually IN Tiger Stadium for both the 61-17 and 77-0 games?.............

I was at the 77 - 0 game too. The day LSU won 61 17 I admit I rooted for Ole Miss (I was in HS). I baby sat because ny sister had a date and I covered for her. The kid is now a US Marine Colonel. Also that day expolsion at oil tanks in Elizabeth blew out windows 5 miles away.

1970 and Archie Who got his paybacks. Too bad he had a broken arm at the time.

That was the "original" orange game, not the 1982 FSU game. I was at both. I was also at the Tulane game after the second orange game.
