Kling has zero chance of hitting the ball on the outside black. Especially if it's against a lefty with arm-side run. He's so off balance on anything outer 3rd and on the black, he just runs out of bat. Sure, you want him to swing at a pitch that close, but he had a better chance of it getting called a ball than actually touching it.
