CEO in Baton Rouge will be judged on many things but beating Bama is close to the Top

we have a couple of mobile QB's on the team

I would look for as many as 3 new QB's to show up

And what about all the games they've won? They've won multiple championships without mobile QB's themselves.

I think it's a myth that you can't win without a dual threat QB or that you need a dual threat to beat Bama.

For all intents and purposes, we had them dead to rights with Mettenberger and simply blew it. We beat them with Jefferson and Lee in 2009. Lost in OT with Lee in 2008. Should have beat them with Anthony Jennings who wasn't exactly lighting it up with his legs.

You get the best quarterbacks you can, dual threat or not IMO and tailor your offense to what your QB can do. It's too hard to find good QB's regardless of their mobility issues so to limit your scope to only DT is a mistake as far as I'm concerned. There are a lot more games on the schedule that you have to win other than just Bama if you want to win this conference. Ole Miss and Texas A&M have beaten Bama with mobile QB's. So what? How'd they fare in those seasons?

Of course we take a dual threat if he can also pass well. We also take a protype that has good mobility.

Bama loses by passing yards. If your QB can't complete passes down the field you are not going to beat them. The only team that did lately is Ohio State. Your QB has to be mobile enough to buy time and take the run for first down.

Terrible times when we have to adjust our thinking as a program to beat a Rival...

I think the Lord just loves him some Alabama football...

15 National Titles? I forget how many...

beyond ridiculous...2 of the greatest Coaches of all time, in my lifetime...

I hate Wayne Huzanga more and more each day

Lsu has to play Auburn Bama and the Gators every year

Auburn has many good teams just not all the time same with the Gators but both teams are rough and when we have to play them on the road - very rough

Bama and Nick have got to the point of almost unbeatable - Nick built the Battleship !!!!!

If I am CEO I build my team to beat these 3 programs and the rest will work out

All 3 of these teams can and often do take our run game away from us and what got Miles fired is just being stupid. I don't think CEO will fall into this trap and I think he will run the program to have the O ready for when we run into the great D's that can and will shut down our run first !

those of you that said it - it is very clear - be able to pass the ball down field - Ole Miss is 2 out of 3 against Bama in the last 3 years

It is a myth 13 of the last 16 national champions were pocket passers and no qb has beat sabans bama with their legs everyone of them had big passing games to beat bama.

Basing your entire scheme based off of one team is incredibly dumb

Only bad part to me is we had their coach--circumstances being what the were took him away.

Good part is everybody is losing to Bama not just us.

here is the problem with spread offenses and hurry up offenses. They might be MORE snaps in a game for the offense but it also may/will lead to less time of possession meaning our D will be on the field longer. This is a problem for any D I dont care how talented or how deep you are. There still needs to be a balance.

This is such a chickenshit mentality. Be who you are..... be great at it..... don't waver from it.... and dominate

That's what Alabama does

Do you think they tailor their offense or defense to stop a certain team? Absolutely not.
In fact their defense is not built to stop the spread... but they do... enough to rule the football world

Only one game out of 12. Try to win the other 11 and at times you may win 12.

it's clear I didn't make my point

if you build a team that can handle any D that can shut down your run you must have the balance to counter that

the down fall of CLM was lack of balance - all I am saying and Bama has lost to teams with great balance with mobile QB's

That is why Saban has gone to a lighter front seven that moves side to side quicker! How have those dual threat QB's done against Bama this year?????? He has followed the Chavis way to defend the spread "lighter faster defense" but when he gets the #1 recruiting class year after year it means that his guys are more talented and deeper. Bama isn't going to be beat on any kind of regular basis until Saban leaves.

it doesn't matter who our QB is. If we call stupid plays, and do a shitty shitty shitty job of blocking like we have been doing, it will be very difficult to beat them regardless of who the QB is or type of offense we run.

I just want a guy behind center that isn't gonna shite his pants, and an offensive line that will compete against their great defensive front. We also need guys in the slot with quick speed to create mismatches on backers.
