Guys I am as fired up about this as any news we've had from baseball and that is saying something because we have been on a tear of positivity

My apologies. Could’ve sworn they said he was a junior during announcements.

If we get in too big of a crunch Travinski can take the year off to rehab and not count against the limit unless he just wants to leave on his own. Johnson specifically mentioned his upside so I don’t think he’s in any danger at this point.

Just guessing here but, McManus is prolly your short term solution , Milazzo stays as they try and develop his offensive game . Priester being your future (your long term) solution at catcher. Will be really curious to see what transpires in the future with Wyeth and Travinski. Wyeth not doing so great right now in summer ball (offensively at least)

Wyeth is almost assuredly gone

Looking at the numbers, Travinski won’t be able to occupy a scholarship if he isn’t healthy.

Travinski will rehab and not count against the roster numbers. Johnson mentioned him recently so I expect Travinski to keep plugging along in the program perhaps redshirt next year perhaps he gets healthy sooner?

Great crewtin, ranks top 10 catchers in 21 draft, JJ shoring up position of need quickly, let’s go get some Ace pitchers and Omaha bound for 22

Hard to believe Coach J has only been here for 3 weeks, it's crazy how many moves have been made already.

Just noticed LSU was not in Perfect Game's Top 25 recruiting rankings as of the last update in May. Ouch.

We were number 4. Pretty sure 4 is inside the top 25.

He was raking it, prior to last. I don’t understand what happened. The weight loss is when things started to go downhill.

It’s almost as if the new coaching staff is doing everything they can to put the best possible team together.

Refreshing. Ahem.

There are peripheral numbers that point to his freshmen year being kind of flukey in the power department. It’s not the weight loss, it’s his swing. Lot of moving parts with his leg kick & hands. He has timing issues

He's a really athletic catcher, with pop and a strong arm.

Saw him back pick 2 runners in the same game against Brother Martin this year. Both throws were from his knees.

Eta: had an exit velo over 100mph with wood off a tee last year.

Like I mentioned in another thread a 5 tool catcher is a rare breed.

According to a twitter post around the time he committed to Meridian CC.

115 mph exit velo

People just go with the "eat our own" whenever things aren't going great. For anyone with a trained eye, Jordan Thompson has the ability to be an All-SEC SS for the next 2 years. It's laughable that people continue to trash him but, it's easy so...
