Wow these two just ran up and down the court. Fun game, never seen it because of the fact I was born in 1990

Love how close the seats are. We need to bring that back

72-58 at half! That's amazing. That'll never happen in today's game

Coach Westhead of LMU later said that his team played their absolute best that day but still came up short to an LSU team that played 4 sophomores and a freshman(Oneal) for much of the game. Many national pundits and a whole lot of fans called it the greatest college basketball game of all time.
LMU made it to the Elite 8 AFTER losing their best player (Gathers) to a tragic heart attack not long after the LSU game. That game, as well as the Tigers victory over eventual national champion UNLV, both showed just how much talent the young Tigers had. Such a pity they list several games they should not have that season and got a terrible draw in the tournament, having to play GT in the second round.

And I was there, really a great game, exciting and fun to watch

This is insane the way these two teams shot the basketball. I now see that Johnny wants to recreate this style of offense with this team.

I still have a VHS tape of the original broadcast that game, and it still plays.
I have to get it copied to a DVD sometime soon.
