FYI - Just finished driving around the entire city and there is nothing in the city limits. Beer and wine are sold at most places, but Arlington is a dry city and you cannot find any hard liquor. Well, I guess you can call it a "damp" city. Anyways, if you're looking for liquor, Fossil Creek Liquor off of I-20 on Bowen Rd. is the closest thing we could find.

I somehow doubt that, and

is simply not true. You have to go to an actual liquor store, though. Hard liquor is not sold in gas stations or convenience stores like Louisiana.

Helpful hint: Liquor cannot be sold after 9 PM and all alcohol sales (outside of bars) end at midnight. Plan ahead!

31 minutes between I-30 and I-20.

LINK

This link says otherwise. Beer and wine can be sold on and off of premises. Distilled spirits, i.e. hard liquor, cannot be sold for off premise consumption in the city limits of Arlington. You can buy a crown and coke at a bar, but you cannot find crown by the bottle anywhere in the city.

I understand, but having lived for a considerable amount of time, I can promise you liquor stores exist in the city limits. They just have to get special permission, there is a process to go through and some do. There is a liquor store off of I-30 on Randol Mill.

I'm just busting your balls at this point, but that's no the totality of Arlington.

Looked around that area and found nothing. We ended up in Dalworthington Gardends, or DWG, right outside of Arlington off of I-20. That is where we found Fossil Creek Liquors. The guy at the counter said that you could not buy hard liquor in the Arlington city limits.

If you could post a few names, that would be great. It was like a 15 minute trip to get to the Fossil Creek place for us.

Huh, that makes sense. I guess I never really thought about it, but most of the liquor stores are in DWG or Pantego. Those are small cities completely enclosed by Arlington.

Majestic Liquors is one, near the are I mentioned. And there is another one called Randol Mill beverage. A quick google map search should help.

welcome to the metroplex. You have to head towards Dallas for booze. plus arlington is a shithole anyway.

Whether an area is dry, semi-wet, or wet in the Metroplex is generally a precinct by precinct (or commuter city) decision. For instance, Plano is semi-wet, you can buy wine & beer. Garland & Richardson are dry, no package liquor or carry-out beer or wine sales. Parts of Dallas are wet, but not all. Around Central Expressway & Greenville Ave. South of I-635 is wet, liquor stores sell everything. Addison is wet. I'm not as familiar with the Arlington area.

Usually the liquor stores congregate near the precinct boundaries. That is what the previous poster was referring to when he said the liquor stores could be found "inside" of Arlington. What he meant was that the city of Arlington has grown up and swallowed these smaller towns surrounding it. Those smaller towns may have different rules than the city itself. You can't tell you are in a different city or precinct, but you are.

It's like a Texan coming to BR and driving thru the city from downtown to Scotlandville, to Baker, to Zachary, to Central, to Watson, to Denham Springs. We know the difference, but its all one continous urban (or semi-urban) sprawl to a newcomer.

YP Mobile or Google "liquor stores" and head to the nearest one, usually no more than 20-30 minutes away from anywhere in the Metroplex.

It's a pain in the arse and quite a shock to somebody from Louisiana!

Big Daddy's and Majestic Liquor has better selections and they're nearby...if coming from Dallas, I would go to Beverage Depot
