OP by haramba3 - "Why LSJ is better than Tom Brady" This! Is the definition of an idiotic post, an OP mocking an exceptional student athlete, with LSU fans offering numerous up-votes.

I really don't feel bad about all the down-votes, after seeing the poor character of some of these same fans voting. It's like up-voting someone mocking someone's race or religion, their character is that poor.

So you made a response thread to a thread from February?

No, just offered a true illustration of an idiotic thread for some of my snowflakes who are also LSU fans, it's what teachers do.

Yes, guy in my sophomore class at Zachary, super character guy, Dale Babson, probably one of the best overall athletes ever in La, MVP in baseball for Zachary, MVP football, trophy's galore including racing dirt bikes, killed his sophomore year in a car crash he was a passenger in. Would have graduated with my class. Anything else?

I'm not hating. Just trying to connect with some hello Zachary peeps.

In 1978, you graduated 3 years after one of my sisters, who was a cheerleader at Zachary, when you were a freshman.

We probably know each other (or at least of each other). I have cousins that graduated in 86 and 89.

Do you know who else was wildly successful at the high school level that can't beat out Danny Etling for the starting job? Justin McMillan. He was the QB for back to back 6A Texas state champs. Just because a kid is good in high school doesn't mean he'll be the man in college. All of these guys were the best player on their high school team.

I think the other big factor is to look at who is recruiting the players. For Lindsey Scott I saw Navy, Rutgers, Maryland, and Syracuse who LSU had to recruit against. If Florida or USC was on that list then I would've said he was one heck of a grab. Brennan on the other hand had Oklahoma St, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, and West Virginia pursuing him. I'd say better programs were interested in Brennan because he was no doubt the better player.

TrueTigerTale, we need to have a heart-to-heart.

Lindsey is smart as a whip, he's shown himself to be a winner, a really good QB, and all I've heard is that he's a genuinely good dude. Anyone who says "he's not SEC caliber" is a classless dipshit. The thing is, though, that a throng of douche bags wouldn't be trashing him if you hadn't done the whole "he's so awesome, LSU's gonna regret this" public meltdown. You act like you're divorcing the mother of your five children because you found out she was blowing creepshows at a truck stop for $5 apiece. Lindsey's gonna go to another school, thrive, and come into his own. This could end up being the best thing that ever happens to him.

By melting down, you just invite trolls to have their way with you. If you were the sole target of their attacks, that'd be fine—you're welcome to embarrass yourself all you want. But what actually happens is that you've now fueled the narrative that he wasn't good enough. Your jackassery has hurt Lindsey. Why? Because you melt down like a pre-teen WASPY-as-frick schoolgirl who found out that her crush is being killed off on her favorite WB show.

Stop embarrassing yourself and Lindsey. He posted a thoughtful and classy message to announce his transfer this morning. Try to see if you can demonstrate the same measure of maturity as that 19 year-old.

Okay, let's have a real heart to heart. Before any of this rapture occurred, I was reading the posts of some LSU fans mocking one of the top student athletes to ever sign on for LSU, and all the up-votes approving of it.

I really don't want LSU fans to be known for this type of poor character, because most are not this way. And I don't want LSU to miss out on great opportunities to recruit star players from Zachary and elsewhere. It's not just about protecting Zachary players, it's also about protecting LSU's integrity as a fan base. Sounds corny, but it's the damn truth.

Hey man, you just referenced something and I think you're not understanding why folks do what they do.

You just drug up a topic from like February comparing LSJ to Tom Brady. You have to understand this was done in jest, sarcastic, and based TOTALLY on the fact folks like you wouldn't stop telling anyone that would listen that he was the best evah. The responses that are offending you were brought on by......you.

Objectively, LS didn't have any major offers outside of LSU, and in fact, he was a last minute option when Franks didn't work out. Doesn't that tell you something?

Had he successfully won the job, it would've been an awesome story. But the fact that he didn't, and in fact got passed up by two true freshman...that doesn't take away from his greatest assets. Everything I've ever heard about him is he's a phenomenal person, and I know he's extremely intelligent. He's also a guy that wants to compete on the football field. Thus...HIS decision to transfer.

He did it like a man. You talking about your "time of sorrow" is ridiculous. If you're related to him, you're being selfish. If you're not, you're being extremely creepy.

I went to John Curtis. Willie Allen recently transferred, and considering the depth chart on the OL, this is actually significant. But I didn't see a bunch of whackos creating threads talking about how LSU misdiagnosed his talent. And I didn't shed a tear for crying out loud. He'll find an opportunity elsewhere.
Whereas a guy like Duke Riley, another Curtis alum, waited it out and worked extremely hard to EARN his playing time at LSU. Worked out pretty well for him.

LSJ will be fine in life despite the fact he never played a down of football for LSU. It's really sad fans are having "time of sorrow" over it. I bet LSJ is relieved and excited looking forward to the next chapter of his life.

He appears to be a great kid that got passed by 2 freshmen. I wish much succes in the future.

I do agree we have messed up the QB position in the recent years but I hope your wrong about the future
