One of the better Troll treads I've seen...I personally hate the wave but loved it as a kid, so I want to see it still be around...As someone said before to the OP...go frick yourself.
Have a GREAT DAY!

I just hate the way today's student section's selfishness has ELIMINATED cherished traditional songs from being played by TGBFTL, that's all.
They have no shame at some of the chants that THEY think are funny, but not the other 75,000 in the stands or the national TV audience.
At least in our era, the band could play EVERY SONG, EVERY CHEER, without it sounding like a GoodFellas/Pulp Fiction/Jerry Springer-fest.
I agree. I wish they could play every song too but to insult the entire student section isn't going to help. Without the students, the stadium isn't nearly as loud cause the students actually never sit down and always yell. Not saying that others not in the student section don't do the same. But from 30-30 there are a lot more butts in seats then the student section and that is a fact. I would gladly take the wave and occasional bad chant if it meant people staying til the end...seeing the stadium half empty by the time the 4th comes around is a lot more embarassing than any chant. I am a student and depending on what is going on on the field determines whether i stick my arms up for one second cause im already standing up. Also, in my humble opinion, you can do the wave and watch the game at the same time. I know we live in louisiana but hopefully we can at least multi-task that.
That being said, supporting the team by yelling, screaming, doing the real chants>>>>wave.

Whats wrong with booing? as long as its for the other team whenever they run out. If you mean booing our OWN team, then I agree. That's unacceptable.

That's only because the bandmembers had their lips pressed against mouthpieces. The bands reputation on road trips was not something, as an adult, I can say was exemplary behavior. The 1984 trip to Bama and the 1986 trip to Florida are infamous, especially for band members of the late 80's and early 90's who weren't allowed to do a damn thing.

Yep, I was in the band about 20 years after that, and we were still this way. Thanks for all that beer money for the road trips, Skip!

Do tell.
Nowadays, if you do something bad, Roy will find you, and you can say goodbye to your hopes and dreams.

Wave is only acceptable during blowouts

Your a moron. The student section is the most electric place in the country to sit in. There the reason teams struggle on 3rd down because there fricking loud. Nothing pisses me off more than old fricks who don't make noise when it's 3rd and long and the opposing qb is in the shotgun. Last year during the bama game I grabbed the guy in front of me and pulled him to his feet. Not a good move I admit it but goddam it I am passionate about our team and I expect the same out of you if your sitting I that stadium.

You're right! Back in my day, we could chant "assholes! Assholes!" to the tiger rag and throw cups full of beam and coke onto the field. We were so much better fans back then...

I'm usually paying attention to the game. Maybe I was wrong to assume most other men do the same thing?
I think you are wrong to assume most men can't do both... pay attention to the game, and "wave".
Multitasking... not hard for "real men".

Now there you go getting your pretty little pink panties in a bunch. You even had to throw in the quotation marks on me.
It's not that I can't multitask. I'm just not interested in the wave anymore. When I was a kid I got all excited about it, but not so much anymore.
And again, I thought most men were this way and women and children not that way. For instance, my wife loves doing the wave, people watching, talking to me in the middle of the game, etc. But most women are that way. She loves going to the games and loves LSU, but she's a woman and does women things. It wasn't meant to be a personal attack. I'm being quite literal in saying that.

Can't wait for the season to start so we can see threads on more things unrelated to football. Like how you can't stand it that the ramps in tiger stadium are so steep or that there are too many people wearing purple shirts and not enough gold.
This thread is now all about trains.
