Interesting point. Is this the new popularity matrix? I'm not sure how monetized it is, so it may not carry the weight of the classic Q rating for TV/marketing dollars, but it is talked about enough that I could easily see it becoming the new measuring stick (if it isn't already).

Nobody will care or remember that Ben went to LSU. I can't see Ben really being an ambassador for the school anyway. It's nothing against him, but he's a one-and-done. Those guys don't give a damn about where they spent one year of their life because league rules made them. I don't really blame them.

LF is the next huge LSU pro athlete. Derrius Guice and a few of our current wide receivers will like follow him to fame just because offensive guys get so much TV time. Alex Lange and possible a few other baseball players will likely be huge in the MLB in a few years, but MLB players really don't get as much exposure as NFL/NBA unless they're just insane.

Doesnt change the fact that he is ours for this one year, and the fact will never change he will be a Tiger for life.

I agree. Melo suns okoye with 'Cuse, All the #1 picks from KY are know. (WALL, A.Davis),
Durant's season at UT still remembered. Ppl still remember Oden from Ohio St, & he is busted.

Maybe time to re-think the premise he will be forgotten. He will be at big Tiger games for life sitting by Shaq

It is already. Celebrities throw parties for the "million" mark and it is very monetized.

Think what all these teams did in the post season.

Ok...Shaq never made it to a final four, & people know him as LSU.

Plus, I haven't given up on winning the SEC tourney and causing people to get gray hair busting their brackets as the Anamoly

Shaq wasn't one and done, is the GOAT big man, and is a massive LSU booster.

How about Patrick Peterson? Wasn't he just voted "man of the year" for his charitable work. Also, didn't he just give LSU a million dollars? And let's not forget that a few years ago he was the greatest to ever come out of LSU. How easily he's been forgotten. To PP7

Mathieu has kept a low profile in the NFL which is good for him. Beckham, not so much... which is also good for him.

Yep. In the gaming world, he is probably the OBJ. Gaming companies pay for his endorsements and such.

Back to the original topic - you have to factor in that OBJ's "local" fans is New York City. That's a lot of people, even with the NYJ/NYG divide.
