His Iowa State Cyclones just broke KU 54 game home winning streak.
He did a great job at Murray State.
Previously coached at Centenary, Tulane and Southeastern.
Only 41.
Current salary $1.2M.

I believe it has become apparent the AD doesn't give two shits about the BB Program, or the embarrassment it brings to Alumni. Expect Jones to be here through the duration of his contract.

I bet $2M would make him consider.
If we aren't willing to pay tha much the you will know we are not serious about basketball.
Right now we are a national embarrassment.
It is devaluing the LSU athletic brand.
Costing fan support and revenue.

Alleva has to actually fire Johnny Jones before any hire can be made. It's incredible that he won't do it.

Moscona keeps saying that Alleva made the point when firing Miles midseason that it was about the players. Yet, he's in the same situation now and won't fire Jones.

Agree.

I guess people think the SEC is some sort of attraction because LSU sure isn't.

The longer Johnny Jones stays on the sidelines, the more difficult it will be to rebuild this program.

Alleva and Jones are doing their level best to kill LSU men's basketball. It's unbelievable.

Would love to have him or Gregg Marshall. But neither are coming here.

Why in the actual frick would Prohm take a worse program, with less financial support, in a worse conference, and with a shitty boss?

Some of you are truly delusional on what the LSU basketball program is right now.

He is bama grad. He just has to keep iowa state relevant as they are now until bama job opens up.

Ps. Why in the world would he leave iowa state for LSU?
He came in late last year. Next recruits will be his first full cycle. For all we know, he may be able to compete.

Iowa state has 8 losses already.

Wont make ncaa unless they win the conf tournament.

Nit for them.

Maybe cyclones bring back hoiberg.

LSU isn't pulling a basketball coach from Iowa State right now.

Where do some of you come up with the stupid bullshite you spout? I'm just as frustrated as anyone, but I really don't think firing Jones now would solve anything. If you think though that Jones will be coaching here next year, you're just plain nuts. No way in hell.

A. He had let Iowa St drop down a bit. Nice win against Kansas, but ISU has taken a step back.

The best idea is to pay a shite ton of money and get Fred Hoiberg when Chicago fires him.

The Hoibergs are not going to live in BR regardless of how much money you think LSU would throw at them. Not their kind of place and they really don't need money.

Resume looks pretty good and he has Southern USA roots/Louisiana coaching background. (Won't hold it against him that he was at Alabama for a few years)

If his current salary is only 1.2M, then offer him a raise and get him in here. (Take some of the "Wretched Excess Overblown" women's basketball head coach salary and use it to hire him)

As for taking over a "Dumpster Fire" program, many "Competitive" coaches would welcome the challenge to turn things around. Shame on LSU if they're not willing to pay him significantly more than 1.2M, as Prohm looks like the perfect type hire for this program at this point in history.............
