Let me tell you something you don’t want to hear

We get it. You hate O. Nobody was just extremely pleased with his hiring. Me being one of them. And now, much to our worst nightmares, our team has become a shell of itself. But that doesn’t mean we should all just jump ship because the year has been pretty crappy up until this point. You see, the thing is we are going to have to go thru this whether we like it or not. O is not going to get fired because the school and big money people aren’t willing to pay his buyout when they have another large buyout being paid off. Growing pains happen in any kind of transition. And the thing that aggravates me the most is those of you who think we can get any coach in the country just because we want them. It doesn’t work that way. Whether you want to hear this, or not, LSU is not a destination school for most coaches unfortunately. If it was Jimbo, Herman, or anybody else who we really targeted would have left to come here the first time we asked and would have said we can figure out the details later. But that didn’t happen. The truth of the matter is, there are really only 2 coaches that are garunteed to produce success, Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. Everybody else is a crapshoot. Sure other coaches have had success (let me be clear, NC success not just winning games, if that was the case we keep miles) at other schools but that doesn’t garuntee you that they will have success at another school. You can make the argument for Dabo to be in that list as well. It’s time to stop acting like whiny libtards who bitch at every little thing and it’s time to get behind these players and this team. They need us, the fans, to stand behind them. Let’s breathe some life into them and see how much they fight.

I don't agree with this. We will hit a point where lost revenue from people no longer giving a shite about the program will far outweigh the cost to get rid of him.

Is there a buyout insurance plan available ?

Bookmarked for when Tiger Stadium is half empty for the opening kickoff against Auburn.

There are 123 FBS head coaching jobs. The vast majority of people in those jobs would leave their position to come to LSU. Some wouldn't because they are at equally desirable schools, some wouldn't because they are too comfortable where they are, but most would. That's just a fact.
and furthermore, while you're right in thinking we can't get anybody we want, there are literally dozens upon dozens of coaches out there we could get who are more qualified and or suited to be the head coach at LSU than O. They may not be Nick Saban, but what we have now is well well well below the mean of what we could get, and thats really not even debatable at this point. We have suffered 2 historically bad losses within the span of a few weeks dude. This is Curley Hallman.

I'm baffled as to why this needs to keep being posted. This ought to be the very definition of self evident, shouldn't it?

Baton Rouge is a cesspool in a dead state. It's no wonder coaches would rather go to Austin.

Stop. All family and friends of O are asked to wait in the service lounge on the home page.

Alleva could have blindly threw a dart at a list of 100 other candidates and hit someone who had a better coaching record than O.

It's ridiculous.
it's one thing to say we can't get Saban, Urban, or Dabo. Clay Helton is not leaving USC for LSU. Lincoln Riley is not leaving Oklahoma for LSU. 90% of people get that. But don't tell me we can't get Jeff Brohm, PJ Fleck, or DJ Durkin type coaches. Sure one of those guys may not want to leave for personal reasons or whatever, but those are eminently "getable" coaches for LSU and dramatically, hilariously more qualified to be here than the guy we have.
Would any of those guys win an NC at LSU? I don't know, but it would be way better than what we're getting now thats for damn sure.

I've been a season ticket holder for over 30 yrs. We will not win another game this year and I will not be attending anymore games this year. EMPTY SEATS speak loudly.

There are more than 10 'destination' jobs. We are one of them, the only thing that will pull someone away from LSU is the NFL. We just happened to be trying to attract two coaches from other destination jobs.
quote:I agree 100%, but O was not a crapshoot.
Everybody else is a crapshoot.

at other schools but that doesn’t garuntee you that they will have success at another school.
quote:And Clemson will find out if they are a destination job in about 5 years.
You can make the argument for Dabo to be in that list as well.
quote:not really.

They need to be coached, prepared, and focused. They dont need a cheerleader, they have one as the head coach. They need coaching.
