Les's obvious change in philosophy last night was a personal disaster

Personal to him, that is... not to me.
It was obvious that he was no longer afraid of using the forward pass to set up the run. It was obvious that he veered away from his "let's wear them down and win in the fourth quarter" attitude. It was obvious he didn't want to run against eight man fronts.
Good for him on all that, right, but unfortunately he got exposed in a manner that was, in total, very unflattering.
Because what was also obvious is that the man is tolerant of sloppiness, and, even more alarmingly, that his and his assistants' cumulative high-priced expertise amount to plays on the chalkboard that are not working. For all the success at critically-timed and properly-executed plays we might as well be employing lower income middle school coaches.
Thanks for the philosophy change, coach... you've satisfactorily demonstrated your "want"... but now you've also proven you don't have what it takes in the know-how department.

Les has seemed very subdued this year, even when undefeated. Maybe he knew what was coming, or maybe it's something else.

He looks burnt out and tired. No fire left. If he is ready to hang it up, I wish he'd follow Spurrier's lead and simply retire before it gets uglier.

Agreed.

I think the bottom line is that we couldn't pass block for shite. Actually didn't mind the game plan.

Now that you've mentioned "health"... I found the Jim Hawthorne award last night, when he tried to hold it up in the air, pretty interesting.
I think it's true he's had bypass surgery. I couldn't lift my arms, either, after mine. If anybody did it was cruel to ask him to.

That sequence combined with the return of the fricking meerkat offense was the most frustrated I've been towards LSU since JJ tried to clock it against Ole Miss with zero seconds left

The trouble is Rex, our team is so set up for the run, our O-Lineman have a difficult time pass blocking. Last night showed our inability to come back from being behind by multiple scores. Looked like an old wishbone team trying to pass in desperation. By the way, on the late interception, who didn't know the fade was coming?

He admitted last night in his post-game press conference that he doesn't know what's wrong with his team. Well, he's PAID very handsomely to know. He practically admitted that he's the most overpaid person in the state of Louisiana.

I want to see some emotion from the head coach. I don't want a raving lunatic, but we need more emotion than he shows. The team picks up on this and that is why they seem to be just going through the motions.

Nine minutes left, we need quick scores desperately, and when the team is not standing around looking totally clueless they're committing penalty after penalty from a lack of focus and discipline.
Any other coach, even Coach Gandhi, would have gone ballistic at both his players and his assistants, or shown at least a BIT of displeasure... but not Les.
