"I could give a damn who judges me as long as I'm doing what I think gives us a chance to win..." or something like that. This quote summarizes his stubbornness and hardhead throughout his time at LSU, and possibly explains why there were never a change because he didn't give a damn.

Now I feel even better about the decision we made to fire him, cuz he would take us nowhere with this stubbornness.

It's amazing how the ESPN and general media paints Les Miles as the victim of that 1 freak of a second. How can they be this shortsighted and short in memory?

College gameday used to be my favorite show on Sat, now it's not even watchable.

Ask yourself this question and answer honestly.

Do you think Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Tom Herman, Jimbo Fisher, Bill Belichick, (fill in the name of any successful coach) would make the same statement?

People who disliked Miles can find a way to be butthurt about every little thing he says.

If that quote came from Saban it would be lauded. That is the type of attitude that most elite coaches have. They're not worried about the outside judgement, they're doing whatever they can, however they can, to give their team the best chance to win. Miles happened to be misguided on that effort, but that approach is commonplace.

But Saban did recognize his offense needed changing. The elite coaches evolve. Successful people in life in general aren't afraid of change.

I respect Les it was a good death even he would say that.

I support him as long as he goes far away and doesn't recruit Louisiana.

He was a good representative for us. He didn't get done and he is gone. End of story. Why be bitter about it

All of those coaches you listed know how to adjust and evolve, a few things les could not comprehend.

Right. He did what he thought needed to be done to win.

It still fits the quote.

Look you are right, but for f**ks sakes, after seeing that shite fail time and time again, shouldn't he have at least changed something, ANYTHING to do with the offense? Stoops and Patterson did this when they fell to 8-5 and 4-8 respectively. The next year after changing the OC, and letting him do his thing, they went 11-2 and 12-1 respectively. Sumlin got it threw his skull, and Strong did too, we'll see how it works out for them, but when they both made this move, I predicted they'd win between 9 and 10 regular season games.

Miles said, with his actions, F the fans, F the boss man, and F the players, only he mattered.

At LSU, Saban also started Marcus Randall for 8 games in '04 when JR was clearly the better talent. Why? Because, contrary to the fans and media, he felt Randall, with his shortcomings, gave LSU the best chance to win...and he went 5-3 in those starts.

ok he didn't and is gone. Doesn't make his direct quote wrong.

Miles said, with his actions, F the fans, F the boss man, and F the players, only he mattered.

yeah no. again, you may not LIKE IT but Miles believed the O he and Cam were running wasw what was best. Doesn't mean he was right, obviously wasn't

But to take this quote and act like any other head coach doesn't think the same exact way is a joke. This thread is about that quote and really the people who still feel the need to bash the man. No need or reason for it.

There are people who decided they hated Miles the moment they saw his headset vs Arizona St.

That is how pathetic some of these people are.
