Mentioning what a good job Joe Robinson did preparing USC's special teams, was it his way of publically kicking Peveto in his arse?

Possibly considering the SC coaches will be looking for job in a couple of months. I am not sure if what the current problems are directly coaching techniques or schemes. But the fact is he isn't getting the job done and its his responsibility and right now kickoffs are terrible, punting isn't that great either and kick coverage is a cluster.

Last I knew Joe went to UNC. Hadn't heard he was on USCe staff until this thread. Would love to get him back at LSU next year! I'd imagine Spurrier will be retiring so Joe may be looking.

Dude was money on coaching special teams.

BDP needs to be fired NOW before his lack of ability to coach costs us a game. I know it won't be done but ever since "Uncle Fester" has been in charge of ST, that unit has turned into the biggest weakness on this team. I know he's one of Miles' buddies & I hear he's a great recruiter; if that's the case, give him a nice office in the AD building & assign him as a recruiter & get him the hell away from the X's & O's of this program. The kickoff part of that game yesterday was embarrassing.

Would have the LSU plane chartered to go visit him TONIGHT with a job offer in hand. Worst special teams play under Les. Rare that Miles would comment on how well prepared another teams coach was. Likely comment on how poor special teams play is.

LSU's special teams lacks a real St's coach which is obvious, but what they really lack is overall speed to to the ball carrier. Kill some red shirts or play Guice and others, something needs to change. Or this will cost LSU.

Miles will not publically fire Peveto in the middle of the season IMO.

He may quietly have someone else take over those duties and either have BDP do recruiting and something else or BDP may decide to leave LSU for another job after the season.

Keehn's always been inconsistent, but we didn't have these other problems under McGaughey. I like having Peveto on staff as a recruiter, but he needs to be replaced if the ST problems continue.

They don't lack speed they lack lane discipline.

Guice completely left his Lane on that play he made late. They can't keep doing that.

They lack lane discipline and they lack aggressiveness. Half the coverage attacks the carrier while the other half sits back letting blockers demolish them. It's absolutely fricking horrid. Been like this all year. No way should this be going on in the 5th game of the season. You would think by the 5th game they'd tell these guys at the very least stay within this range and attack the ball carrier rather than standing back letting a guy run at you full speed and knocking you off your feet.

Many have commented on our 'not-so special' teams.

The hard data proves up the theory.

Statistically I woyld think we are last in every ST category except XP and FGs, makes you wonder when it goes bad there too.

I am on record as defending the BDP hire. I was wrong. Miles should take over all ST coaching rest of season
