I think they've been overrated, particularly on defense. We sign big, slow defensive players who can't pursue, cover or tackle. What's so great about that?

The ball didn't bounce our way this year

Bouncing balls didn't give up 50+ twice. Bouncing balls didn't get our asses whipped at home by Ole Miss. This season didn't have a damned thing to do with bad luck. It was pure and simple the complete collapse of a football program.

Exactly, and this given the first comments coming out of his mouth was that it was going to take at least 4 or 5 years for him to rebuild LSU. That should have been our first clue they guy was going to stink it up.

I believe Saban and Meyer said that last year. Uh, did it work?

When has he addressed the problem? Saying "we'll get it fixed" is addressing it? bullshite.

If he were really going to fix the problem(s), he should be able to specifically identify what it (they) is (are), then outline specifically what he's going to do to fix it (them).

Would you rather he just give up and let the team get worse?

No, I'd rather he not create problems with stupid assistant coaching hires. Barring that, I'd like for him to recognize when he's created a problem, identify it, and fix it. So far, there's no evidence he's done any of this. Even now, with the season over, he won't admit that it was a stupid decision to promote Malveto to DC.

who says he hasn't? Why should he have to tell you or John Q. Public anything?

Seems to have worked pretty well, and is about as relevant as what I had for lunch today. How many coaches have said "we'll get it fixed" and failed to do so? They are at least as relevant as the two you've managed to identify who did fix their teams' problems (none of which were created by the coach doing the fixing, unlike our situation).

He doesn't. His job is to SHOW me and John Q. Public something. He didn't.

what the frick do you want him to say?? All year you idiots break down every single possible word in his press conference and complain about him not saying anything about issues and now he says something, people laugh and joke about it.

I do not understand this board sometimes

We'll get it fixed.....thats about the extent he will ever say. Address the actual problems. Maybe hint at the solution.

He didn't really say anything again!

Would you feel better if he came out and blasted the assistant coaches? Good luck finding a DC that would come here after doing that. Not to mention the fact that these coaches will be looking for new jobs next year and Miles will probably let them walk without damaging their reputation more than the season already has.

This may not matter much to you, but as a professional and fellow coach it is the right thing for Miles to do. It happens with all coaching changes. He'll say something to the effect of "not seeing the progress that is expected", or that it "just wasn't working out." But you won't see Miles or anyone in the administration publicly bashing the coaches. It's called having a little class.

I am so damn tired of hearing..."...we're gonna get that fixed"...it has no meaning anymore. What I want Miles to do is stop speaking "coach speak" and own up. Admit he has screwed up and not blame the assistants for everything...they are not his scapegoats as the head coach is ultimately responsible. I want Miles to say we'll practice the team harder each week if that is what it takes...we'll run pass routes until we get it right. Our receivers will catch passes until they stop dropping balls. We'll practice basics like blocking and tackling until we get it right...how ever long that takes. I don't know how he can sleep at night and say with an honest face..."I believe the team is ready to play...". So lets hear some honesty for a change coach...tell us what you're REALLY going to do to make the team competitive because we all know the raw talent is there already. I don't want to hear the old cliche..."...we'll get that fixed..." anymore unless I hear how you plan on going about that and then actually fix the problem.
