That's impossible. Alabama and Texas fans have said that Miles isn't that great of a coach and a mediocre recruiter.

yeah, but how bad does fla state's offense have to be to keep him out of the rankings. they were fricking HORRIBLE last year, he shouldn't be there

We win another championship with Miles and he will be #1 Besides,#2 still can't beat 3 and 4 in BCS bowls.So whats so great about Trussel.So what if they beat Michigan every year!So what! App.State beat them last year.1 and 2 just needs to play more SEC games and then rank them!It would be a Different Ranking then!

Wow. If I remember correctly, Jimbo was ranked 1st last year. In one year, Jimbo fell from 1st to 18th.

Fulmer isn't on the top 25 at all ?? 
Yea,I know he's an easy target and does whine a lot,but he's had some tremendous success up there. From 1995-1999,they were a solid top 5 program. He's been in the SEC title game 3 times this decade.Sure he's 0-fer, but you mean to say he's not better than Pat Hill and Mike Riley ?

Some of you have a short & selective memory. LSU enjoyed its best offensive years under Fisher (until last year).
• Offensive coordinator for the 2003 National Champion LSU Tigers
• Coached three players selected in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft including No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell
• Coached five quarterbacks in seven years at LSU that were NFL draft picks (Josh Booty, Rohan Davey, Craig Nall, Matt Mauck and JaMarcus Russell)
• Two first team All-SEC quarterbacks (Booty in 2000 and Russell in 2006) and two second team All-SEC quarterbacks (Davey in 2001 and Mauck in 2003) were coached by Fisher at LSU

What's wierd is that Michigan is 5-1 against the SEC in Bowl games during the BCS era; including beating Florida a lot worse than the score indicated last year (the Wolverines fumbled it away twice inside the Florida 5 yard line).
Otherwise, Tressel has just as many BCS championships as anybody else (1) and has been there more often than anybody else (3 times). Ohio State was not supposed to be there during the past two seasons. Last year's team was not supposed to win the Big 10. It was a young, "next year" squad.
People say Ohio State has trouble with the read option spread offense but the Buckeyes held 2005 Texas to 25 in losing by only 25-22 during a year in which the Longhorns with Vince Young weren't held to fewer than 40 by anybody else.
If he'd won either one of the last two BCS title games he'd clearly be #1. The fact that he didn't...and particularly the reality of what Florida did to his team in the 2007 BCS title game...tarnishes him some. But I still think he obviously belongs near the top.
I mean, think about it: He's been head coach for 7 years and he's been to the BCS title game 3 times.

no doubt, Jimbo was a top OC, that's why he was highly sought after.

The "success rate" in itself may not be special, but the "get there" rate is. 3 times in 7 years. Again: Nobody else has gotten there more times than he has and nobody else has won more than he has.
Bob Stoops has been there three times too, so he's in that category. Pete Carroll has been there twice. So has Bobby Bowden. But I don't think anybody else has been there more than once (let me know if I'm wrong about that).
Nick Saban did it the first time he got there. Les Miles did it the first time he got there. But so did Jim Tressel and Bob Stoops. Before we can say Les Miles or anybody else who is 1 for 1 has done better, we have to see if they can even get there again.
On Stoops: I consider him a tad behind Tressel because he got there 3 times in 9 years as head coach while Tressel got there 3 times in 7 years. But it's close.
