I just saw Les Miles:In His Own Words on CSS. It chronicled his time at LSU and had a series of personal interviews with him to tell the story. He did a great job and did not sound at all like he sounds in press conferences. His speech was not full of cliches and he spoke from the heart with great clarity. For comparison's sake, I've heard Saban in similar settings and Miles did a better job in that regard, in my opinion. Miles clearly knows what he is doing and I understand why he recruits so well. Just saying.

He speaks well when he is not in front of the media who is waiting for him to say something controversial.

He certainly has a want to be a quality interview.

MILES is way underrated
$abun way overrated

Both are good HC's

That said if LSU loses tomorrow in miserable fashion many will want his head. I believe champioship runs come in cycles. Most predicted a 9-3 season if Miles can deliver that he gets my vote (has to win the bowl game too.) Tomorrow is not a litmus test for CLM the season finish is. If LSU wins tomorrow he will have exceeded my expectation.

He has seen them progress in practice and he likes what he sees.

Not so sure ... no doubt he knows how to turn college programs into winners.

for every press conference "coach speak" phrase that you can find for Miles...one can be found for almost every other coach...ESPECIALLY Nick Saban.

I love the guy. I sent him a letter of support after he dismissed RP. He wrote me back with some great comments. I believe he is a good person and I would want my kids to play for him if I had them.

Better not let it get out that Les reads his mail, the Rantards might flood him.

I only care what people think of what comes out of Les's mouth when he his giving a pre-game or halftime pep talk or sitting in a star recruit's living room.

$aban may be overrated as a coach but not way overrated. My problem with Saban is his personality - the dude has a clinical personality disorder
