Les is gone; can we keep posts about him classy?

From all accounts he is taking his firing well, as most of us expected. Les, the man, was always class. But the same can't be said of some posters here who continue to cuss at him and berate him. Think about it. The last 11 years could have gone much worse. LSU has continued to be a top tier program and has stayed relevant nationally. Give the man some respect, you have nothing to lose.

Nope. The negas and Sabanistas will never forgive him for being "not Saban."

They forget how well he conducted himself in 2005 after the hurricanes, and when his alma mater came calling - twice, and just what kind of positive influence he was on the program.

Although I agree the time has come for a change, the negas never thought he was a good coach, never appreciated what he did for the program and will dance on his metaphorical grave until the next coach loses a couple of games (or wins ugly) - THEN, they might have a hint of appreciation.

But classy? Not in a good portion of our so-called "fans".

Wrong board! You're looking for the "safe spaces" board.

He wasn't an elite coach. He demonstrated no ability to adapt over time. The program has been in decline for half a decade. He squandered the career of a Fournette. He frittered away a talented squad this year through his own obstinance. He deserved to be fired, and he was.

If the truth isn't "classy" enough, I don't care.

I agree Les has run a clean program and is excellent at recruiting.

It is not without class to point out his faults though.

Prideful, stubborn, and arrogant are words I could use to describe him also that don't coincide with "class".

He's a big boy, plays a big boys game, and gets paid a kings ransom to do so. Criticism comes with the territory.

I'm gonna have to ask, which years?

2008, 2009, 2010 (saved by JL), 2011 (I mean, worst performance by a BCS team), 2012 & 2013 (with NFL talent), 2014, 2015, 2016 are years that are hard to believe would have been much worse

You usually get 4 rent a wins, an SECE win, a down team in the West and a weak bowl opponent in bad years, so that's 7 wins for most SEC caliber coaches

Is it classy to promise to visit Oklahoma State and North Carolina to learn about their wide open passing game and incorporate such knowledge into LSU's offense and not do either?

Is it classy to get players to come back for one more year and sacrifice millions in NFL contracts when he promised change and new passing game and possibly a NC?

Is it classy to hurt LF's Heisman chances cause you are to stubborn to put in a viable QB and passing attack?

I once had the greatest respect but now in my mind he is the Hillary Clinton of the NCAA.

What about his BS with his good friend to the north Jeff Long acting as though he was interested in Hiring ole Les for the Arky job. You don't think ole Les and George Bass his agent played LSU like a fiddle for his big raise and buyout at that time. I have little fondness for the man after that. He had his pay raise is what Alleva should have told him. Hey Les, You win the SEC championship and you get this many more dollars as a bonus , you win the MNC and you get this more money for your bonus, there's your pay raise. Just sticks in my craw how he and his agent played LSU on that one.
