Les, Cam, Brandon

I know that this isn't going to be a refreshing topic but I wanted to give it some time to sit back and gather thoughts instead of making spontaneous, irrational comments.

Since most of my real life friends are more NFL fans than college football I figured I would post this on here to gain some perspective from LSU fans who can talk in depth about LSU football.

My take on the passing game woes and where to lay the blame:

Les Miles - 50%:
When you are the head man in charge you have ultimate say in offensive scheme (maybe not always play calling but scheme) therefore you need to make sure you recruit and develop the best qb to fit your scheme. You also have the ultimate say in recruiting. It has been proven that you need a pocket passing QB in your scheme (I use this term to denote a quarterback whose best qualities are his throwing skills).

Cam Cameron - 30%
The reason you do not get more blame is because it is not entirely your fault that Les has not fired you and I also would not be passing up millions of dollars if I were you. Your blame lies in development and somewhat recruiting. You are not equipped to develop a dual threat QB. Partly because dual threat QBs are not your cup of tea historically. Partly because Miles' scheme is not dual threat friendly. Partly because you are not a modern college football offensive coordinator. You are a traditional vertical passing NFL offensive coordinator. A modern offensive coordinator who can get your best athletes in space and be a little creative is needed at LSU if we are going to continue to recruit dual threat QBs. College football is vastly different from the NFL because spread systems will work in college due to the talent gap all over the field. In the NFL the talent gap to win one on one matchups is much closer.

Brandon Harris - 20%

This quote applies to Brandon Harris, Anthony Jennings, etc. It is not a coincidence that we get these highly rated dual threat QBs and they do not pan out here. We do not have the necessary development and/or scheme for dual threat QBs to exceed here. But Brandon you still need to look like a somewhat competent D1 QB. I believe that it is more of a confidence issue with him rather than ability issue. But that ship has sailed so it does not matter.

TLDR: Bring gifted pocket passers to LSU and our offense will thrive. Or fire Cam and Les and bring in a modern offensive minded head coach or coordinator and we can continue to recruit dual threat QBs.

Just want to be able to talk some LSU football with knowledgeable fans. So thoughts on my opinion?
