I can't recall. Anyone else remember someo similar?

LSU had a top 10 preseason football team and the number 1 overall NBA draft pick. This is not Iowa State or Rutgers

Miles was fired 4 games into the season in 2016. Now 2 months into 2017, so no to whatever you're thinking.

South Florida: fired Willie Taggart (football) and Orlando Antigua (basketball) this very year.

For Power 5, it happened in 2013 at Wake Forest. Technically, both Jim Grobe and Jeff Bzdelick "resigned", but there was some pushing involved.

Better question is has a school done this and retained the athletic director?

Don't know and don't care since this piece of trivia is meaningless.
