"I’ve worked with several guys who worked extremely hard. Two of the best players on our team right now are Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they were also two of the hardest working rookies I’ve ever been around. You never heard a thing from either of those guys. Never. They didn’t speak a lot, but when it came to practice and conditioning, they were always first. First guys in the building, last guys to leave. They had the mindset that they were going to come in and be productive players. They didn’t say it, they showed it. That’s a good example to follow."

That mindset comes from great coaching from the head coach on down.

This quote should be put in the new weight room on the wall in big font with pictures of TM7 and PP7 from LSU all superimposed over a purple 7 in the background where everyone can see what it means to be a Tiger and how you learn at LSU what is needed to make it at the next level.

I can see the wall now. Awesome.

High praise from a real class act, Larry Fitzgerald. He has such high regard within the league, that world class trash talker Richard Sherman says that trash talk is tabled when he plays against Fitzgerald. He said something to the effect "No trash talk with Larry Fitzgerald--I have too much respect for him. When we play them, he asks how my family is doing."

High prasie for the former Tiger greats!

I wrote Mathieu off. I had no faith in him. I wanted him to succeed but couldn't get behind a guy who refused to get behind himself.

I am glad I was wrong. Such an inspiring story about a guy who had every excuse and reason in the world not to succeed but fought against the odds, overcame adversity, fricked up, fricked up even more but in the end believed in himself when not many people did.

maybe. I doubt it though. Else Fitzgerald would have been going on and on about the inspirational coaching and the 22 guys on both sides of the ball. He said its about PP7 and Tyrann.

Nicely said; then you see crap like Johnny Football who won the Heisman who can't even earn the respect from anyone.

Great to hear. Very glad to see both players not taking their talent for granted.

hope you are kidding. They had plenty of teammates who didn't have that mindset. One stands out.

As good as HB was at LSU, he only scratched the surface. He is doing well now but its a tragedy he didn't get to play more games in Death Valley.
