Curious to what the Rant thinks about Ole Miss hiring Lane Kiffin. How good can Ole Miss be with him as the head coach? Do y’all think his tenure will last longer than 5ish seasons?

Also Geaux Tigers can’t wait to coach O holding that crystal ball in January

I noticed he's gotten pretty fat. Those Ole Miss coeds are going to be disappointed.

Will Ole Miss be better under Kiffin? Yes, eventually. Will he stay there longer than 4 years? No, because something else shiny will catch his eye and he'll be gone. He's more interested in being famous and talked about than establishing a winning atmosphere and creating a solid program. He's a child with a famous last name and a horse shoe up his arse who doesn't know how incredibly lucky he has been.

Ole Miss hiring a really sketchy coach. I’m sure he will last a long time without anything controversial.

I think he’ll get them some excitement and some wins they are desperately looking for. I don’t think he’ll return them to the peak of where Freeze had them. I believe he will be a little “too much” for the chandelier crowd to really embrace when it’s all said and done. Oxford is a super small town and everyone seems to know everyone else’s business. This doesn’t seem like a recipe for success for Kiffin to me, maybe I’m wrong though.
He’ll get them to 8/9 wins in year 3 or 4 imo.
The real question is will they be excited to be improved but still be 3rd or 4th in the West.

Lane is a legit threat starting NEXT year. He ain't no Jimbo or Herman. Don't think he will last long though....

All I know is that the Kiffin hire immediately made Plumlee at least twice as dangerous.

He may be the heir apparent at Alabama if this Ole Miss thing works out....

He will make them better and Ole Miss will upset some a team every year they have no business upsetting, but he will never get them more than 9 or 10 wins in a season at best.

10 wins was the best Freeze could do there and Freeze is a far better coach.

The culture around Ole Miss football just isn’t conducive to a championship team. There has never been any discipline in their teams and Kiffin sure as hell ain’t changing that.

Dude. It's ole miss. They're not going to ever be on par with the LSUs, bamas, auburns, or even Texas ams of their own division in this strong conference. Ole miss will prob be more competitive with kiffin, but let's just be honest here...ole miss is not going to win any championships. It's a good hire for their program but theyre at such a competitive disadvantage compared to the other teams they have to compete with on a yearly basis, that it doesn't really matter who their coach is tbh. They have to cheat in order to have any kind of success over the beasts in the west, as it has been proven under freeze...and they still didn't even win the west and make it to atl. Ole miss is at best the 4th strongest program in its division and will be competing with tamu for that spot. Kiffin is as good as they can possibly do however and I do expect them to be a bit more competitive while still not being able to overtake any of the big 3 programs in the west. That's just the way it is and as good as it gets at ole miss. They could very well get slammed again under kiffin, as he has that sleazy aura about him and I believe would be willing to sell his soul and the chest his arse off just to be able to best LSU or bama one time lol...this is going to be high freeze 2.0 in my opinion and I can't wait for coach O to whip kiffins arse next year and in the future. Geaux Tigers.

Ole miss is a dead end job. They may have a real good season now and then, but overall they are average. That will never change.

Kiffin can coach.
Kiffin can game plan.
Both players and other coaches love him.

I'm not so sure Kiffin can run a program. I think his issue is that he can't get those 3 things working together.

If I'm right it starts out well and slowly degrades. If he can't keep his personality in check it'll be a crash. But those days seem behind him and his outlet is trolling on twitter, not the back bathrooms of sorority houses.

I'd loved to have Matt Luke at LSU as an advisor or something. He could at least help with recruiting. Too bad Kirby acted much faster.
