LaFell's Emergence as the go to guy

It's crazy to think about how LaFell has matured
06: Made a few catches I think two TD's one in the first game, one in the Sugar Bowl. But was too young to contribute tons, not to mention Bowe, and Davis.
07: He basically became the #2 guy by default when Bowe and Davis graduated. Yet he stepped up that year and really played better than anyone expected. Made lots of key plays
08:With Doucet gone Lafell became the go to guy and it was obvious throughout the season. He would of had an insane year if LSU had good QB play. Still yet he was the man.
09:Is one of the leaders of the team, hands down top WR. Gonna have a great season and be a first round draft pick.
Isn't it crazy to think about how some of the guys just develop. Idk just thinking out loud, it's the damn off season.

I agree and can't stand fans who still think he has no hands. He made some unbelievable catches the last few years, and is a helluva blocker.
should be preseason 1st team all-sec, and should be first rounder

You see I had completely forgot about his drops.

come on dude, he defiantly is a good wide out with great size, but he still has to work on his hands. Make the sure plays, not the spectacular ones. I will agree with the orginal post however, he has made a lot of improvement from the Auburn game in 07

It'll be cool seing the experienced future NFL 1st round pick in LaFell on the same field with top pick and future star in Randle.

I knew he was going to be great when his first catch in an LSU uniform was a 50 yard TD

And 4 years from now we'll be speaking of Randle as if he is LaFell and some new kid as if he is Randle and so on and so on.

thats pretty much how all of our stud WR have developed recently. Which is why i have so much faith in Toliver having a great year

If so, then that's almost definitely a sign of good things to come.
