Sounds to me like your source at BRPD has been going off of accusations made by the victims family and treating it as gospel.

uote]Again, you're implying things that you want from things that are said. They can say he is verifying his whereabouts and him not be a suspect. I can't help it that you want to believe he's been a suspect all the while everyone says he isnt. [/quote]

Quote from moron attorney:
quote:

"We've tried to rule him out as a suspect. We're going to provide that information to the police,

"Tries to rule him out" absolutely IMPLIES he is ruled "in"

So you tell me genius....why do you go thru steps to rule out a suspect who isn't a suspect? I'm not implying anything! It's his own attorney

LOL, so now the NFL has solved the case even before the BRPD has. Awesome. This is the same NFL that couldn't get a video tape for the Ray Rice fiasco though, right?

Do you really think the NFL didnt have the tape?

Do you really think the NFL doesnt know what happened here?

By my own logic the police don't want anyone feeling like a suspect. They don't want anyone they talk to to feel attacked. They want people to cooperate.

Then why say anything? By reiterating he is not a suspect, they set themselves up for egg on their faces if he does become one.

They have done pretty much all they can outside of arresting someone else.

Do you know who his attorney is?

Sure do.

And did you know he said this?

"We've tried to rule him out as a suspect. We're going to provide that information to the police,

You tell me what he meant. He single handedly made LC a suspect in everyone's eye. You don't rule out someone as a suspect without them being a suspect!

I'm sorry you guys are blind.

Think of these simple steps..

Girl dies
LC contacted
Hires lawyer
And when lawyer speaks, he says they are working hard to " rule him out as a suspect".

Go play in the street if you seriously don't think ha is lawyer considered him a suspect.

Does the NFL really pass on a multi million dollar asset based on unfounded speculation?

Sounds like a bad business decision except he will still be an NFL player but they will pay him less.

I suspect the owners came to an agreement or truce not to draft or sign him until everything settles.

The way La'el didn't come into town immediately is shady as frick tho. Kinda irks me, actually.

GeeOH, shut up. You don't know jack. We went over this 10/15 pages ago.

You work for a distributor of DNA test or some bs like that. You don't know "criminal investigations" like you claim. Come on, man. You are trying to convince us you are Matlock or Columbo over there when in reality you are some dumbass that knows nothing.

Jim Boren is a damn fine criminal defense lawyer. I'll take his advice over a stock room boy at a DNA distributor any day of the week.

This is your own post and claiming this is saying had he paid child support (for a child that's not even necessarily his), he'd not be getting arrested. Do you see the stupidity you are spewing? This means you are clearly stating he conspired to murder her.

You're a special kind of stupid aren't you .....

Back when DTL was on his serial killing spree a lot of guys with white trucks had to go provide DNA to rule themselves out as suspects. It doesn't mean that they were already suspects by the BRPD.

That would be collusion and they would be opening themselves up big time.

I hope Collins is cleared, but this is what worries me:

Collin's is a great talent and several NFL teams wanted him. They spent a good deal of time and money getting inside info (these guys are smart pros) from investigators, police, and others close to this situation and decided not to touch him, even in late draft rounds. They didn't just back away because of rumors. They got way more facts than any poster in this thread has and backed off.

Agree and watch this week were there is basically no risk for NFL teams to sign him as a free agent IMO it will be interesting to see what happens with that.

I would be willing to bet that the Saints are close enough to Baton Rouge that they have sources who could get at least enough of the story from the BRPD to take a step back. At that point other teams would take notice or discussions would be held "off the record".

The NFL will likely give this picture time to clear up before anyone gets involved with Lael. A piece of the puzzle may be a paternity test and the police time to push the investigation down the road a bit.

Or is it more plausible that they backed away because of the PR nightmare it would cause if he were to be arrested down the line. I know its not as sexy of a story but sounds more realistic to me.

The NFL doesn't have to prove the case in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Is PR part of not drafting him I. The first two rounds yes, is it part of no one take a flier on him as an UDFA I would say no.

Here is my question, if BRPD had anything on him, why would they reiterate that he is not a suspect? Wouldn't they simply say they will not comment on an ongoing investigation? Seems foolish to say he still isn't a suspect if there was ANY inkling of foul play on his part.

Saying someone is still not a suspect is the same thing as saying someone is still the coach at a university.

It's a temporary statement.

If this continues to drag out, and he can't get a deal signed, his legal team should turn to this to recoup his money. There are too many signs pointing to this being a silent agreement among the teams to stay away from him in the draft.

There was obviously some type of behavior that La'el demonstrated in the anger of unwillingness to pay child support... something that is arrestable and nfl career derailing worthy.

This is the most plausible explanation.
