Those times won't matter for him. I honestly always thought he'd be better suited as a guard in the NFL

His bank account would prefer he be a tackle in the NFL. I assume Collins agrees with his bank account.

Well yeah obviously. I think he'd have greater success at the guard position. But I'm just a fan so my opinion doesn't mean shite

He is an amazing run blocker. I always thought he would be better guard in NFL as always

He'd be a fantastic RT or G in the league

He had a very controlled, relaxed, smooth run with not a lot of wasted motion. Good performance.

Solid times. Won't open or close eyes.

La'el is a full-grown man.

When they put on that tape of him against USCe in 2012 as a Junior, and then the tape of him MAULING Myles Garrett in College Station this year he'll get a hard look as a guard initially but he is so athletic I think he will also get consideration as a legitimate RT-and perhaps even a LT-candidate once he gets into Mini-camp with whomever drafts him.

He's getting a little Twitter love this morning

quote:

@MoveTheSticks: Really impressed by LSU OT La El Collins...moving with ease.

@ArthurArkush: RT @MoveTheSticks > Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner said he's OL w/ def mentality.

@CoachBillick: LSU OT La'el Collins winning the day so far in early drills. Impressive feet...looked really good in exaggerated pass set drill.

The only time an Oline should have to run 40 yards is to celebrate in the endzone.

I've never understood why they care about a OL's 40 time. The 10 yard split should be more important.

With the rookie contracts the way they are, it really doesn't matter too much. It will 2-3 years down the line though if he still plays guard or tackle

I think he goes around the 20 spot in the draft. Jalen Collins moving up draft boards surprises me. First round pick on most boards.

Still blows my mind. He has all of the physical attributes that you want but I don't think his on field play showed him as a first rounder.
