Yea, but they're ranked and have a high RPI. This win would've helped us in more ways than one. Now we HAVE to win against Georgia on Sunday.

You miss 2 free throws that would have put the game away. You have 3 fouls to give in the last 13 seconds. You let them rush the ball 2/3 of the court with no pressure then foul. you give up the 2nd foul before they throw the ball in wasting no time. Then you foul on the shot. They still give you OT at best and you dribble the ball right in the hands of the defender Then you let the in bound pass go right under the basket. ???

In sec in 14 years. Apologists for nc I've hear enough. No excuses she is doing a poor job to date period.

LOL! Oh please, in Van's last season the team was 5-5 at this point................and he had a team full of veterans and 13 players on the roster. Nikki is doing FINE. This game sucked, but this team is still learning how to compete against the elite teams. Hopefully, they'll use this game as motivation. We lost to TAMU by a much bigger margin than tonight. So, progress is definitely being made.
But this one hurts................I ain't gonna lie.

Lsualum how is progress being made at 4-6? You need a reality check. And when we are 4-7 remind us again. Van was never this bad. Nc has three upper class starters incl two seniors to start season with. Nc is doing a poor job. Hopefully she will do better but so far not good at all.

Tonight was bad for Coach NC, but let's be honest... Van was mailing it in the last few years. Look at the improvement in Plaisance this year. She had a good recruiting class this year and is bringing in some good players next year. The coaching was bad tonight, but she basically has 5 players to depend on right now. Although she scored some tonight, Lutley is a disaster as we saw at the end of the game. Webb is streaky. So, I am willing to give her a few more years to get more than 10 players on the roster and get her own players in place. Ballard is going to be all Freshman SEC, but she needs some shooters.

Meh...............if you want to say that this has been a bad season and she's not done a good job, so be it. But to infer that she's done a bad job since she was hired, is not even close to being true.............in addition to the fact that we're only halfway through the SEC season. Give the team time. They're right on the cusp of being a good team. Tonight's loss is frustrating but, far from a signal that Nikki's not a good coach. Some of this falls on the players.
She may have upper class men who are among the starters but only two of those upperclassmen have been starters in the past. And actually the fact that the team played UT so close is probably a reflection on the fact that Nikki weighed HEAVILY on the upperclassmen tonight (Webb, Kenney, Lutley, McKinney, Plaisance). Notice that she took Ballard out for a long stretch and the team actually took the lead. That's not to say Ballard's not a good player..........she is. But the seniors were a little more careful with possessions than she was.
The team is getting better, regardless of what their SEC record is. Its still a rebuilding year. There's a very good chance they'll win on Sunday. So, let's wait to make a determination till we at least get to the SEC tournament. If this team finishes the SEC with a .500 record, that's about what I'd expected coming into the season. That would be an accomplishment for them. Next season, that won't cut it though.............

Actually, I don't think Nikki coached a bad game. I think the team played poorly in the last minute of the game. Up to that point, Nikki had done one of her better coaching jobs.

One and a half seasons in?
Well, what SHOULD we expect? Again, anyone who's followed the program knows what Van left us. Nikki was able to organize that underachieving senior class last year and get them to the SEC tournament championship game and the NCAA second round. She graduated 6 seniors off that team and was left with THIS young team. What do you all THINK we should expect? I expected a team that would be doing well to finish .500 in the SEC and probably win around 18 games.
Apparently, some were expecting this team to do better than last year's team..................I wasn't.

LSUAlum.... we'll have to agree to disagree. I like Nikki, but the last 2 minutes were bad coaching. Why pull every off the free throw line and not pressure when you have 3 fouls to give. Why not call a time out to ice the foul shooter and set up a play to run miss or make? Yes the players missed FTs, but why do you have Lutley handling the ball when she is terrible at the line? I support her, but I disagree that tonight was one of her best.
