maybe they think Louisiana players can't do as well so close to their posse.

Alexander is from Alabama and Beck is nothing but a good ole country boy who loves Home. Duke was a model citizen at LSU and a good guy. Debo has shown maturity since he’s been in the league.

For those wondering whether this is on purpose or not think about this.

There are 50 + LSU players on NFL rosters. There are 32 teams. There are only a handful of teams that have zero LSU players on their active roster.

The Saints, a team thats only an hour away from scouting and evaluation of these players and inside information from their coaches, is one of those teams.

That in itself raises an eyebrow but doesn't necessarily mean anything until you think about this. The Saints have had zero LSU players on their roster for not just this season or the previous season but for 12 straight years. All under Sean Payton. Previous coaching staff's had no problem having LSU players on the roster. In fact, many of them had several LSU players.

Devery Henderson was here when Sean Payton got here and for short time Sean Payton had Al Woods on the practice squad. Maybe for like a week. And at a time when Sean Payton was absolutely desperate for a defensive tackle.

I think it's quite obvious that there's a concerted effort to avoid LSU players, for whatever reason. Possibly because they don't want those players so close to their friends and family where they can be distracted and not perform well or get in trouble with the law. If I had to guess though, I would say the reason is because Sean Payton has been here long enough to know how much people in Louisiana love LSU and it's players and I think he thinks that it would be really difficult to have to cut or trade an LSU player if that time came and I think he also doesn't want to get all the backlash if he decides to start someone else over an LSU player.

Previous 12 years would go back to 2006. Devry played for the Saints through 2012. So how could he be on the team and they have zero on the roster?

Skyler Green was with the team (mainly on PS) for 2008
As you mentioned Woods was drafted by the Saints in 2010.
Flynn was the backup in 2015
Dural is currently on the Practice Squad

So the only years without any LSU players on the roster under Peyton would be 2013, 2014 & 2016

The saints drafted Brandin Cooks in the first round of that draft... they didn't desperately need another wide receiver with their 2nd round pick. Some of y'all are fricking men

I’m not expert on the Saints, but wasn’t this the first draft after Colston retired? If so, you’re implying that Brandon Cooks is a prototypical every-down received in the NFL, right? They took him to replace Sproes, not as a full out wideout...geez...

Or Landry. They drafted that QB that never played a down if I'm not mistaken. If not him, was still someone that never played.

Well, after the Saints got who they wanted in Brandin Cooks in the first round, I don't think they wanted to draft another WR in the 2nd round. So, they went with Stanley Jean-Baptiste, and we all know how that turned out .

I think had New Orleans not gotten Cooks in the 1st, they would have drafted one of the top DBs from that draft, maybe Ha Ha Clinton-Dix or Jason Verrett, and they possibly would have went for Jarvis in the 2nd. Oh well

No it isn’t their only LSU omission...they passed on Jarvis Landry when they desperately needed a wideout, but took Stanley John Baptiste instead

They also needed CBs hindsight is always 20/20.

The entire NFL was stunned by that dumb arse selection.

So shocked 4 other guys including WR Allen Robinson went before Landry. SJB was projected as 2-3rd rounder he didn’t work out

The REASON The Saints do not draft LSU players is.........Mrs. Benson is on the TULANE BOARD...
Tulane hates LSU.

LSU has more players in the NFL...But Mrs. Benson will not draft any of the great LSU players...

LSU is Louisiana's football team, period! They began playing football in 1893 in Baton Rouge and will always be in Louisiana! The Saints on the other hand are NOLA's pro team that began in 1967 and could pack up and move to another state anytime, especially if Tom Benson didnt get the $400 million of extorted money he is getting from STATE tax payers! LSU football receives ZERO! frick Tom Benson and his corporation called the New Orleans Saints!!! LINK
